Default Hurricane Irene!

I don't wanna see any threads of Z's that were consumed by the storm!

They are predicting 12+ inches of rain here in capital land. With sustained winds of 75-100mph. The 100 year storm so they say..

I remember when Hurricane Floyd rolled through in fall of '99 and people thought that was bad with 10+ inches of rain and high winds. Roads were flooded, trees and branches were also down. For cars roads were impassable but for SUV's most could be navigated..

If you live in the northeast, be safe and keep your Z's in the garage....

For me, today I will be cleaning my plugged gutters. Test firing the generator and enjoying the calm before the storm by taking my lady out to dinner and shopping at Macys. j/k It will be a good time.

Zim

I just threw all seasons on my subbie and me and some friends have a local spot we are going to drive around in, legally. I can't wait to see if this actually happens or if we get nothing, hopefully it's just a bit of rain.

All my cars are camping out in garages at my houses out of the flood zones.

Plenty of cans of soup and beans.

Bathing suit ready.

Shotgun ready for looters and/or zombies

Bring on Irene.

The hype is pretty ridiculous. The new stations are out of control, it is embarrassing when you compare this storm to the kinds of storms that hit Florida and the gulf coast. I mean a category 1?that's it, all this over a light wind and rain?

Tip: Rich people stop putting your damn houses right on the beach, **** happens
Tip: Poor people, stop listening to rich people

Just got a text from national grid. They have hundreds of crews at the ready for any outages.

Stay safe everyone!

Wow what en epic fail on Staten Island. A few blocks got flooded and there are news reporters everywhere jumping in puddles trying to make the flooding look worse. Hope all the Z's got through safely!

Gilboa Dam sirens are sounding! Communication was lost with the sensors. This is 1 of 19 reservoirs that supply NYC.. People are being advised to evacuate if they can hear the sirens... Code Orange. 55,300-60000 cubic feet per second of water flowing. A record..
