Default First Z pics from my new digicam....

Greetings All,
Santa was generous enough to leave a new digital camera under my tree this year, so I used my Z for a couple of test shots. I had my winter rims/tires installed about a month back, so I thought some shots of the Z post-installation would be worth sharing:

Nikon Coolpix 4300...still trying to figure out the ins and outs of it. I took these photos using the automatic (i.e., "point and shoot") mode....they came out looking pretty good for a first try.

ADR Akunin...17-inch. The Blizzaks are the same size as the stock tires. Since I'm using them for the wintertime, I decided not to mess with anything other than the stock wheel/tire size.

I received a Canon A80. I like it but have yet to master all of the settings (lots of menus). Not crazy about the manual focus control. Give me an SLR anyday!

Anyhow, I got the bug to take the Z out the other day and it needed a good washing. It was cold. The water started to freeze as I was drying. (Had to resize the pic to post and lost some quality.)

Looking good! I also washed mine yesterday afternoon and was going to add some pics, but it was too dark out by the time I got it done. What a shame....my Z hasn't been that clean in weeks and wasn't able to get it on film.

Here's another on top of the great shirt my mother-in-law gave me.

I also took a shot or two of the Krispy Kreme shop in Cranston RI for Roger but I have no tools to resize them here at home.

No matter how old you get, it is always nice to get a toy for Christmas.

Those little Zip Zaps are off the hook. Have you figured out how to do burnouts with them yet?

And I got a Silver 1:18 350 for Christmas, when I asked for a 1:18 300. Grrr.

Dave, how's the road noise and handling with those tires/wheels?

The break in the weather must have gotten many people out to clean their cars. I saw a Redline today and it was nice and clean. I washed mine last week and put it back in the garage.

My son bought me clear corners so I had to install them right away.

Installed the clear corners right away...wow your good. I've had some clear markers in the box since I first got my car but been too lazy to install them.
I assume you just reached up to install them rather than removing the front bumper as I have seen others do. It looked like a PIA.

It's actually not too bad...they felt a little bouncy when I first put them on, but that improved after the temperature dropped and I got some mileage down on them. You obviously can't go as flat-out with them as you could with summer tires, but for everyday driving in the cold, I've found them acceptable. I haven't noticed much of a difference in road noise so far, but I haven't really been listening for it either.

As for the handling in the snow, it's been excellent. I had to drive to work with them during the peak of the last nasty snowstorm we had up here, and they did a great job. I actually thought the Z with Blizzaks handled the snow much better than my old FWD Integra with all-season tires did...so much for the almighty "RWD stinks in the snow" myth...

I had to undo the bumper on the right side since the window washer bottle is in that corner but the driver side was real easy.
