Default Real Auto Dynamics - A New Shop in Long Island, With Familiar Faces!

Address:
3570 Lawson Blvd, Oceanside, NY.

Facebook Page:
https://www.facebook.com/realautodynamics

Grand Opening Meet:
Date will be announced soon!

So a number of us have been holding on to a little secret for a while now. I've let a number of you in on it privately, but I can officially spill the beans. Real Auto Dynamics is official and will be open for business within the next 10 days, or so. What's so special about this shop?

Well for starters, everyone's favorite faces from Performance Motorsport have jumped ship. More specifically, PM's former manager, Alex, is the founder and owner of R.A.D. After leaving his old gig at Performance, Alex wanted to give us car enthusiasts the best possible place to go to for our cars. So along with him went both of PM's former head techs Rodney and Damen - these guys have built countless twin turbo'd and supercharged motors, catering to the requests of the customer's wishes and aspirations for their vehicles. And rounding out this dynamic trio is Nigel. We all know Nigel. And we all love him.

R.A.D. is your one stop shop for everything you need done to your car. Dynos, tunes, general installs, maintenance, built motors, forced induction, etc. I was at the shop today and it is coming along extremely well - the space is huge! See below for a list of what to expect:
  • Dyno Room 2WD/AWD
  • ECU Tuning
  • 3 Lifts
  • Smooth Entrance Ramp (No scraping!)
  • Smooth Roads Around Area
  • Comfortable Waiting Area
  • Friendliest and Funniest Customer Service
  • Integrity and Honest Work
  • Great Pricing
  • Will Work On All Cars!
  • Quality Craftsmanship on Custom Work (Welding, etc.)

I'm sticking my neck out for a group of guys who I've decided to follow once they've all informed me of their plans to setup shop in Nassau's Oceanside. They left Performance Motorsport, and so did I. I trust these guys with my car, and I don't trust many people with anything in general. I've already lined up my girlfriend's 335 Coupe to get work done shortly, as well as work on my 370Z. So this shop isn't exclusive to just Nissans, bring your WRX STis, EVOs, MazdaSpeeds, GTRs, 350Zs, 370Z, BMW 335is, S2000s, VWs, Audis, Mustangs, Corvettes, etc. etc. The crew is no stranger to your car - feel free to ask them!

The shop will soon have its own forum account here. In the meantime, please stay posted to this thread because I will be announcing the grand opening date and when we'll be having a grand opening party.

Alex, can you please find it in your heart to have your mechanic, the one whose name starts with a 'D' and ends with an 'amen' return the light bulb that he "took" from my boost gauge? I'm afraid if I ask him again he's going to give me another attitude and act like he's doing me a favor...I don't appreciate people pilfering things from my car when they work on it.

Thank you sweety.

Yes. The shop will be working with UpRev. I believe Alex has already established contact with them.

It was sick. Tons of cars. Probably 50 in total came through. Supercharged E46 M3CS making over 500WHP, 546WHP Widebody G35, BMW 1M, CLK63 AMG, 540WHP TT 370Z, and of course an assortment of cars such as Zs, Bimmers, STis, Camaros etc.

There's going to be ANOTHER and even bigger event with a dyno day for a full blown grand opening. This was just a sneak peak at the shop - the dyno will be done in about 4 weeks and everything inside the shop will be complete, as well.

I believe Dynocom. But I'm not certain. It's one of the most accurate dynos you can buy, it's used by actual car manufacturers - few shops go for them since they're pretty expensive. But hey, you gotta pay to play.

I'm headed over to the shop now.

No dyno reads low. It's ALL about how it's configured.

A shop in Smithown has a Mustang dyno and their dyno is often accused of reading high. They had it recalibrated and readings were quite a bit lower. So it's all BS. You can make it read high or low - there is no accurate reading on a dyno, it's a measuring tool to gauge your performance increase. The best, imo, is to use a general rule of thumb 13% loss for FWD, 13%-17% loss for RWD, and 15-22% for AWD - of course all depending on the length of the driveshaft, weight of it, construction (one piece, two piece), weight of the wheels, build of the transmission components, and other parasitic accessories.

The variables for a dyno readout are just immensely high.
