Im not sure how much the bodywork will end up running me. I texted him yesterday about it and he said he wants to stop by and see the hatch and spoiler so he can get an idea of my end goal and what really needs to be done
When he stops by... Bring up the guy from the forum that wants his car painted

I can do that. What color is the car now? And what are you looking to have done?

Currently it is brilliant silver, I would like to go with a dark gray or a blue color. I bet an audi color would look nice... I need to do a bit of work like replacing a fender, and some fiberglass work on the front bumper before going for paint so I need a bit of time to take care of that stuff. Sounds like he could actually help with the front bumper issue. It is cracked up in a few small spots and doesn't line up quite how I would like it to...

I'm sure he could help but it will be very hard for him to go eat any kind of estimate. He's one of those guys that wants I see it first so he can show you exactly what pieces he is doing things to and exactly how he will approach it

As he should be. PA is something like 4.5 or more hours from me. We would have to mix it up a bit somehow so I don't have to put all of that mileage on my G!!

Ive been texting that guy. He still wants to see the spoiler and hatch in person but he gave me a quote of 300. That includes mounting it with bolts as well as molding it to be seamless with the hatch, then sanding and priming it so it would essentially be paint ready. It sounds pricey but I think his work will be pretty good. We shall see

So whats your overall thoughts here? I would think you could find somebody closer to you for similar price range, but thats all up to you. I have never seen this guys work before so I can't vouch for him 100%. But so far to date, everything he has said or brought up gives me the impression he knows his stuff

All the good body shops around here have plenty of work and most wont even bother unless your going through insurance.

That's a rather good price considering no one wants to do private work anymore. I'll consider it strongly when I go repaint the hatch

Roof looks good. You have more confidence than I did with those A pillars...

Also, wrapped the wing and sideskirts today. Had some issues with the front corner of the skirts, so I will seam it at the end of the project. Next weekend is front bumper time (and first weekend of drag racing as prep has begun)

A pillars were actually extremely easy to get off. I was going to wrap with them on but I liked the idea of tucking the wrap under the pillars so much more

I need to rewrap my roof... Anyone got any good suggestions on color? I have carbon fiber wrap I was going to use that and see how I like it.. My car is black. Was also thinking about doing black brushed metal, or just gloss black... Or flat black

Im not a fan of carbon wrap. I can't really picture a black car having a roof that isn't gloss black. Anything else seems like it would feel out of place

I agree with a gloss black roof. Either that or an extremelyyyyy glossy carbon fiber vinyl.

Well if I ever redo them, I'll be sure to take them off. I just hadn't heard of many people being successful, but not many used the proper method.

Well if you're really itching to do it, we can take care of that if you ever come over and use the fender roller

I'll keep that in mind. Maybe midway through the season once summer starts and classes are over.

My father will be running the Chevelle at Maple Grove in PA this year in the points ladder. Last year was about figuring out leaving with a transbrake and dialing the car. Was extremely consistent, so we're hoping for good results.

Yeah if my roof wasnt ****ed I would have just left it gloss black but its got some issues. I have a nice new carbon hatch and an old yellow carbon hood so I figured it might tie in ok... Im thinking a lot about brushed black though...

Also thinking about painting.
