Slow day here at work. None of the engineers showed up so that leaves me with a lot of free time... Hopefully this winter is as short as can be. I'm getting antsy with my car parked until it hits 60 degrees for good... I work in Attleboro, and live in providence. I'm sure some of you are within a half hour of me. Anybody FI around here?

I started my Z for the first time in about 4 months. Pulled it out of the garage to clean and brought it back in. My e-cutout stopped working and my new "refurbished" drivers window motor stopped working

There ya go. Vince knows what he is doing on a wide variety of platforms. Eric is a bit condescending. I wasn't very happy with the way I was treated after driving 4.5 hours to get there, so I won't be returning.

Eric argued with me about my idea to use RTV to seal some small leaks between the 6 plenum bolts up top... Like I didn't know what I was talking about. That was quite frustrating considering I built the entire car myself, down to the hardware... custom. I wasn't about to turn around and drive 4.5 hours on a base map tune so I knew what needed to be done to fix the problem at hand, assuming I was going to take corrective action later. They ended up doing it, and charged me for the time it took for the RTV to cure. My fault for not investing in a smoke leak tester. $250 in labor to fix some leaks, replace one or two short vacuum lines, and install a throttle body gasket that I somehow forgot to install (must have stuck to my other throttle body or something).

Great tune though. They did all of the proper pre-dyno checks to ensure everything was in working order. Their facility is pretty amazing, too.

Vince provides great support via email still so that is very helpful. His base map to get me there was perfect, not a single issue. Vince said he had to leave quite early that day (I had an appointment for 10, but got there at about 10:15 because the GPS took us to the same address a few miles away) But he stuck it out which I really appreciated. Driving back really was not an option for me.

There is no doubt that when you leave the place you are leaving with a near perfect tune. They cut no corners.

You drove 4.5 hours to get your car tuned, motivation is high... I would have thought that Boston would have some decent options for tuner shops...

Well I went there because of their track record with FI VQ's. I am probably going to head towards New Hampshire or anywhere closer in the future... There weren't many that really had my trust like RT. They proved to be some of the best...

Thankful to have RT only an hour or so away. Glad to hear great things about them. I know who I'll be going to once I go FI.

Ive been to RT before. About 1hr15min from me. My brother works at CJ Tire and he wholesales tires to them so I do know the guys there.

Ive also heard other people say the customer service isn't 100% all the time. really depends who you talk to there

I've been too R/T for issues with my car (non tuning related), and I can't say anything negative about them. Between waiting on orders, storing my car, resolving issues with my car; all were to a point of satisfactory with them.
I've never been to their new shop yet, but I'm going back soon for a third time. This time tuning.

Okay one negative thing, I live 3 hours away from them.

I wonder how far in advance I should schedule an appointment with them? I kinda want to get my car painted first.

Two weeks to one month is a safe bet but you should call to ask!

I set up my appointment for march 9th on February 5th. They said there were plenty of spots available but its closing up quickly. As spring/summer gets closer, the availability will also close up

I was going to do the mail in flash at Z1 when I get around to installing my new catalytic converters and exhaust.. I am guessing most of you have more performance goodies than I.
