That sounds like a grinding disk/dremmel on metal. I've never heard a clutch from any car sound like that. But hey, I'm not a professional. I can barely graduate college

I think even some 1/4 inch $12 a sheets of plywood would make a helpful difference of the floor isn't in good condition. We have go jacks at work... They are great on smooth concrete floors... They are not so great on asphalt or anything thats not perfectly smooth.

With no engine inside it might work out fine though, I pulled out a vq crank yesterday that bad boy must weigh almost the same as the block.

That does sound bad... Like something is rubbing on the flywheel or the clutch disk or something... I would bring it back and ask them to check it out. Does that sound ever go away?

Thanks for the suggestions and comments. Today, the squealing stopped, but later on, my Z would NOT go into any gears, then suddenly, my clutch pedal lost all pressure. I will see if there is any leaks anywhere. The mechanic is over an hour away, but he will come up Wednesday and look at it.

Sooo the time might have come when I need some uprev. Soo any opinions on how I should go about this?

Option 1 mail in flash from Z1
Option 2 standard with E tune
Option 3 bring to local tuner for dyno tune probably get whatever they recommend
Option 4 keep car under 4000 rpms because im afraid it might blow up at high rpm's

For anyone not paying attention...

DC short ram intake
Kinetix V+ plenum
DC short headers
Berks high flow cats
Borla exhaust

Z1 crank pully awaiting install...

Think that covers all the bolt ons.

Defimitely time for a tune. I'm sure you are running quite lean at this point.

Unless you plan to do any serious work in the future, I would say just get the flash tune from z1

I think im done with upgrades for now... My only concern with the mail in flash is passing mass inspection...

Do you know how the osiris standard works with E tunes?

Side project turned out great Craig. Nice to see the skills paying off and extra practice.

I'm nearly clueless when it comes to all things UpRev, but Z1 should be able to get you sorted out. Their CS was pretty great when I dealt with them, so they will explain anything you need to know.

All car stuff has been put on hold for the next three weeks until I wrap up senior-in-college related stuff. This is literally insane at the moment. Averaging 4 hours of sleep and my only down time is eating - this is lovely. Highly recommend

What specifically is your concern?

The first tune I had on my car was done with Osiris Tuner through datalogging, so that is the same as an E tune.

What specifically do you need in order to pass in Mass?

I think it just needs to have all the sensors on and reading correctly... Im 100% sure they check all the safety things then plug the car into a computer and after a few minutes it spits out a sticker... They told me they dont know if it passes or not untill the computer spits out the sticker for your car.

If you are passing inspection now with no check engine lights, adding a tune should be perfectly fine.

Ill let you know tomorrow if it passes or not... I failed a few weeks ago but that was because of the hole in the catalytic converter and my system wasn't ready for testing because I shut off my code right before I went in.

You should be perfectly fine with a tune.

I have no cats and my oxygen sensors all read correctly. Mine arent turned off, they just dont trigger a check engine light.

the only thing that doesnt pass inspection on my car is that I dont have a 3rd brake light and Im Uprev dyno tuned with a whole bunch of other stuff gonig on. So you should be good to go

You pass with the Oil catch can bypassing the PCV system Craig? We don't have visual in my county, but still curious if they will be upset with that. My test pipes pass with ease so I'm thinking no PCV should as well

I do have a our business partner that works at Subaru do the inspections, but he has never mentioned the PCV being an issue.

We do have visual cat inspections in Berks county, but my gutted high flow cats get that done.

So im not 100% with the PCV issue but ive never heard of it being an issue

Talked to the dude at kaizen he said it's like $500 for the tune and that includes the software and stuff... Said it takes about 3 hours and they are busy so should make an appointment a few weeks ahead of time...

So that's not a bad deal, just gotta find the time I guess... It's like a 3 hour drive.
