So I was thinking RZG was close to RT tuning, but boy was I wrong.

Rt is a 3.5 hour drive, RZG is 11.5 hours

Yea if you use RZG, just do all the work through datalogging. You wont have to drive anywhere at all.
Only thing that really eliminates for you is a pre-dyno check. But even the pre-dyno check isn't flawless as you have seen.

What are your thoughts on street tuning? I don't necessarily feel good about it at all really. Great for touching up after a dyno but how do you set the timing properly and monitor torque without the dyno? ehhh. Would certainly save me some $ and a tow if it blows up hehe

I think the only difference between street tune and dyno tune is that with a dyno tune you get number readouts. Lets say you drove the 12hrs to RZG, Ray would still street tune your car.

Street tuning also gives you a better perspective of how the car will actually drive down the road. Definitely different than most dyno tunes where they do very minimal low RPM cruising.

Thats what Im doing with my car, datalogging with Ray and once we are done Im going to toss it on a local dyno (Probably RT's dyno)

I'll give him a call. Sounds super convenient... I was thinking he wouldn't b able to get aggressive with the timing but I'll ask about that... You're good at swaying my opinions.

Been inactive due to a number of reasons. Car is getting re-aligned on Thursday, hopefully not to OEM camber specs this time...

Also trying to hunt down a "bucking" that occurs at light throttle input between 2600-2800 rpm. Similar to what happened why my flywheel wasn't aligned properly, except only at one rpm and no loss of power before or after. It's strange

And you have all of your Oxygen sensors in and functioning? Because Ive removed my rears and it does cause the car to 'hunt' for air/fuel inputs under light cruising

They should be functioning - haven't thrown a code and didn't have them tuned out. I really need to get this new wideband in so I can see what it's attempting to do at least. It's just weird that it only occurs at one RPM. I'll dig this weekend.

Could always get a datalog and send it to Vince. Sometimes the symptoms will show up in a log and he may be able to help you track it down

I need to get an Uprev Tuner cable/license for that I believe. I currently just have the license on my ECU and tune stored at R/T. But it wouldn't be a bad idea.

Then you would need a cable yes. I would say you could just stop in at RT but you're further away now

Everything with getting my car tuned is fighting me:
1) Im borrowing an Uprev cable from a friend because my uprev cable no longer connects.
2) Im borrowing a computer from another friend because Uprev software now has to be on Windows 10 or newer
3) I overnighted a cable to connect to my wideband sensor because the early 2003's didn't have the ECU built-in A/F ratio.
4) Got everything together as needed and my wideband wont connect to the computer anyway (Possible the overnighted cable is bad).
5) Now Ray is sending me his handheld wideband and Im just going to catalog from it. So hopefully that works for us. The level of helpfulness form Ray thus far is astonishing

In the meantime, got myself some hood struts and got my bumper back on with he new intake.

Hey at least it looks good... Your vent opening is now in the wrong place. Intake is pretty mint though.

In now imagining the opening being right in the middle of the bumper like a Cyclops nostril. And imagining it as big as my filter is even funnier

That would look so horrible, maybe you could add two of them big cones that are frequently found on 97 civics... Like eyeballs... Then mount a ***** on the tow loop threads for a nose... Paint some teeth on your intercooler and you will be Facebook gold.

Your struggles with your getting your car tuned are similar to my struggles with getting my car aligned and also getting my wifi working haha

Possibly grabbing a set of Seibon CF fenders this weekend since they are 10mm wider. Not that I NEED them to be wider, but it will eliminate having to pull the front fenders a bit and will get rid of the bumps in the fenders from the splash guard clips.

It's a worthwhile investment. Once you learn the normal operating parameters you can diagnose from your drivers seat.

I'll be at RT on the 6th... I changed my mind about E tuning, just doesn't feel right comparing to a dyno tune.
