Default CT people...advice needed

CT people...since I'm still relatively new to the area, wondering if you can help me out.

1. I want to establish a relationship with a shop. A few people have recommended XX Tuning and I will check them out. Has anyone dealt with Pruven Performance on Rte 1 in Milford? I just happened to stumble upon their shop while cruising around. They were closed but it looked nice.

2. Any dealership preferences? I have had good experiences with Harte, and heard good things about Bob Sharp.

3. Also, anyone have recommendations on a high quality tint installer?

4. Finally, how about a top-of-the-line paint and body shop?

I'm in New Haven but willing to drive most anywhere in the state, but I would prefer to stay out of NYC area if possible.

Thanks

If you want to see what XXTuning is about, stop by on Thursday. One of our members is going to be there all day getting a stereo system installed (he plans to be there from 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM). He's also had them install his clear film and Borla exhaust.

I plan to stop by in the afternoon and one of other members will try to stop by after work. He's had them do his Borla, sway bars, crank pulley set, and Tein EDFC suspension kit.

We are currently working with them to do a meet there on June 5th and we they are going to offer special deals for those that atttend.

Let me know if you want to go and what time you'll be there and I'll try to meet you there at that time.

Default That's my install

I am the guy getting the install Thursday.

Please DO feel free to drop by. The best way to get to know a shop is to watch them work and decide for yourself.

(I ended up using XX Tuning based on last years dyno day. I went to "watch a few pulls" and ended up getting clear bra and a borla exhaust because I was impressed with how they work).

XXTuning is a great shop. As Vic mentioned they have done my Borla, sways, Tein w/edfc, pulleys, pop-charger, and clear film on my hood. I've got nothing but good things to say about them.

Cool. I doubt I can make it this week because I am very busy.

Any input on body or tint shops?

Where are you in New Haven? I haven't seen a PPW anywhere around town.

I live right near BAR on Crown.

XXTuning is pretty nice. People have set up a pretty good relationship with them.

Pruven is also supposedly a nice shop. They had a 4 wheel dyno before XX did, I think the majority of their work was on DSM's and Subarus. I haven't been there in a long while.

Holy ****, I live a few blocks from you! (PM for details) I don't have my PPW yet, it's still on order I just recently sold my M3, and prior to that I had a TT Z32.

I'll second that...I also went to that XXTuning meet with no intention of purchasing anything, and I walked out with some brand new ClearFilm on my hood, lights and mirrors. I'll probably be giving them a call sometime in the near future to do my bumper....it's just a matter of fitting the time into my schedule. The people there are true professionals.

I think XX Tuning does tint to. (since it applies like clear film).

Uh, I don't know. I thought they had a guy come and do it for them. I had my tints done at Tint Works in Hamden. Pretty good, except that it is currently peeling in one corner. They said they'd redo it for free, but I haven't had the chance to go and get it done.

Cost was about $150 or so.
