Hey all!

I'd like to put together a mini-meet (possibly with a cruise beforehand) for Saturday, July 10th. Nothing formal, just a chance to get together on a warm Saturday night and the chance to check out some classic cars. Here are the details...

WHEN: Saturday, July 10th (rain date 7/17)

TIME: 3:30pm

WHERE: Riley's Roast Beef - Framingham, MA (Click here for details)

Riley's currently has classic car nights every Saturday but I've talked with someone at the restaurant and they're willing to block off their lower lot for us.

THE PLAN: Just a simple meet/get-together and then dinner and ice cream. OR....we can organize a cruise before the meet/dinner. We can drive around the Shrewsbury, Sudbury, etc. area and then head over to Riley's. In this case, we'd pick a meeting spot for the cruise and meet up there around 1:00pm.

We have some non-Z/G35's joining us from Boston Motorsports who want to join in on the fun, so if there are some non-Z'ers and G'ers here that would also like to hang with us by all means.

Looks like we're going to have a cruise before the dinner so I'll get working on that.

 

MEETING PLACE FOR THE CRUISE: The parking lot in front of the old Disney Store and Ben & Jerry's next to the Natick Mall (off Rt. 9)

TIME: 1:00-1:30pm. We'll head out around 1:30ish and will end the ride at Riley's. For those not sticking around for dinner, you can get Rt. 20 and Rt. 9 not far from there in order to make your way back home.

Since this was originally tagged as a Z n' G meet, the Z's and G's will get first dibs on lot space at Riley's. Now that we have non-Z's and G's coming, they will fill the remaining spots reserved for us and the rest will have to park next door or somewhere in the area.

Due to the growing number of attendees, I want to be sure that if we get more than 25 cars you're all aware of the parking situation. Riley's is doing us a favor by blocking off at least 25 spaces for us and I don't want to push my luck with making them block off more. If this event goes over well, we can do it there again sometime and perhaps then they can give us more spaces next time.

As for the cruise, the number of cars doesn't matter.

Just wanted to say 'hey'.

I just got my Z last weekend and it now mysteriously has 1,500 miles No more breakin and loving it!

Put me down as maybe - it'd be great to meet the rest of the Z community.

What color Z you got? There is a great group of local Z guys/gals in the area. I am also a maybe for this get together but I'm sure you'll get to meet everyone soon. Keep an eye out in this forum for events. See ya around the bean...

 

Chrome Silver - yesterday I was driving around Washington/Harrison Ave and saw three G35 Coupes - around 7PM. Not you by any chance??

oh I thought you were one of the ones with the G35 coupe - but now I see you have a DB 350Z. I've seen one of those parked on Stuart/Kneeland too. I think it was track.

 

Nope not me. I try not to park on the street in Boston if at all possible. Not sure what city you're coming from but take it from me don't park on the street unless you like dents, nicks, scratches etc... My Sentra is full of them and no damage was done by me. I think you can park under the common all day for $10 (only weekends maybe?) and copely and prudential validate if you buy something or eat there. Little tricks for the **** retentive

 

I street park (with all those morons that can't parallel park) b/c I live in downtown Boston. Garage parking at my building is $300 - that's almost as much as my payment!

I always take end spots - after 5PM all the spots clear out and the few residents park - and make sure I give the guy behind me 6 feet or more to pull out. If I get hit, it will either be on purpose or via gross negligence.

Rule of thumb - I park behind or in front of more expensive cars b/c i figure they wouldn't want to hit me on purpose - my Z parking paranoid keeps me up at nights - especially when I park right outside my window and I can look down at the 350Z. Torture, I tell ya!

 

roydiculous, I'm around Washington/Harrison/Stuart/Kneeland aka chinatown a lot on the weekends... I'll be on the lookout for a chrome silver Z.. Any interest in joining me and a bunch of Mustangs for a dyno run on Sat morning in Worcester?

hmmm... I'd never seen an actual dyno being run, I've just been an enthusiast on paper (aka reading car magazines, car websites at work) - pretty weak. I'd be interested in getting some real world exposure.

I'll PM you later this week about it. I just checked your dyno - you must be running a s/c. Nice numbers. Do you know your 0-60? 1/4 mile?

Just want to say Hi to everyone. I live in Brighton and also street park for now. painful but no choice.

I'd be very interested to get together on July 10th but not sure if I can make it. I just got my Z a two days ago from same Nissan dealer as roydiculous....redline enthu.

I am having a blast with the car but unfortunately I am going back to the dealer for service. 1st gear already grinding during the acceleration. the car has less than 200 miles right now. the symptom started on the very first day and I couldn't take it back right away due to my work schedule.

Hope everything works out fine.

 

Hopefully you'll be able to get that fixed in time to join us...it's always good to have some new faces in the crowd. Best of luck with it!
