Well, the next BEAC practice won't be until Sat the 25th (Possibly Sunday the 26th if weather is more favorable). Same place, same time. Should we see who's interested?

MadMax76 - do you think you'll have enough brake-in milage put in by then to join us?

Break in mileage?

My Z's first event was with just over 600 miles on the clock. It beat the Spec V by 200 miles, and the only real problem I had was with the final drive on the 6-speed (a known problem with the early 6-speeds).

I already got a 1000 miles on it so I am pretty sure I will be able to put another 200 in a week or two. Hopefully the weather will be good cause I am still not use to the car. Didn't have a chance to really take it to the limit since I stopped treating public roads as my personal race track . I will come out in any case and hopefully will get run with you guys.

Sooo.... should we take names down on who would be interested in joining us?

BEAC Members are still:
Drivesolo
BA Cutler
Lateapex
DrVolkl
Rahtok

right? Did I miss anyone?

Usual rules apply: come to have fun, helpout as expected and be cool w/ everyone there. Haters can stay home, we had a few of them at the last 2 practice days, they sorta spoils the fun for the rest of the group.

Hey, hey! Congrats, Dude!!

I've been married for almost 2 years now and I have to say that it's been better than I was lead to believe by other married guys. I was afraid all the fun stuff that I use to do before getting married would change, but I was wrong. My wife is really supportive and understanding of the things that I want to do, ie: car stuff & autocrossing. From what I can tell, your wife should be just as cool.

We'll catch you at the next practice in July.

lol. Gratz! Sundays are very tricky to make -- nigh unto impossible. Saturday's a good solid maybe.

Is anyone planning on attending the Z track day Aug 1 at Pacific Raceways?

So I was thinking of going to the Evolution autocross school this year, but I think it's already full. I'm not saying that I'm going to attend this HPDE, but I'd like to know what other local 350Z's are planning to go. It might sway my decision if they'll be other 350Z's attending. Other than yourself, will there be other 350Z's in attendance?

I'm not sure who's attending. Last year, there were a number of BEAC members there (before I knew that BEAC existed). There were approximately 8 350s several 300s, and a smattering of vettes, an audi, rx-7, etc.

I do know that there'll be a GTO there this year, as my buddy who owns one has signed up.

So how did the last AutoX practice day go??

And when is the next one? I'm getting anxious!

I have a friend who just picked up a G35 coupe, and he'd like to have a run at it.

The cost will be about 400 bucks if it's the first time you've been. About half that if it's not. August 1st, Pacific Raceways. If anyone is seriously interested, PM me and we'll take it from there.

What the ....??? Are you writting this post from Hawaii?

Practice was good. Fastest stock time of the day was by yours truly. STi's, an RX-7 turbo, Mustang Cobras, S2000's "the usual suspects" were there. Had a little team challenge thing.... it wasn't even close (reffer to website).

Next one is in mid-July.

I have a set of four 275/40-17 Tech R's tires on 17"x9" wheels that I use as my secondary autoX tires. There should be enough rubber on 'em for one track day (or the rest of the season of autoX practices for me). If you're interested in 'em, lemme know. I'm planning on selling the wheels at the end of the season after I've throughly burned off all the rubber and corded the tires, but my Hoosiers should be able to take me through the rest of the season's of competitions and practice days.

I picked up those Enkei's, but they're 18's. I need to get the longer lugs up front as well, as you have to use 5mm spacers up front with those rims...

Thanks anyway!

Cool. You went w/ the RPF1's? 18x8 so you can stay in Stock classes? The combination of that wheel and the Hoosier S04's must be about 10+ lbs lighter than the stock wheel and tire, I'll have to get the scale out to confirm it, but the weight saving when comparing the two feels huge.

Oh yeah, make sure to use the NISMO studs ONLY. Both BA Cutler and Lateapex have had some bad issues w/ the studs that came w/ the H&R spacers. I got luck that they told me this before I attempted mounting them.

Question: Why 275/40-18 and not 275/35-18 that seems to be the size of choice for most guys running autoX?

Well, I got Lateapex's Enkei's, so they're 18x9.5, I think. 275/35 would be smaller than 275/40 I suppose, but Nismo has 275/40 on a 9.5 inch rim out back, so I figured that was correct. Either way works. Where did you pick up your tires?

I can't run in stock class anyway due to sways...

I got my tires from Tirerack. I spoke to the guys there and they suggested the R3S04's over the A3S04's for autoX due to weight and power of the Z. If you're looking for strickly autoX tires I'd go w/ the A's since BA Cutler has been able to make his last for over 100 runs. The R's will definately make it beyond 100 runs, but it takes atleast 2 runs to get them warmed up and even then they are not as sticky as the A's.

You're gonna be getting them for the Track day, right?
