My company is looking to hire someone immediately into a contract position. Below is the job description:

SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Enterprise Data Architect, the Data Analyst builds, maintains and modifies the conceptual, logical and physical data models that form the corporate data architecture component of the Enterprise Architecture. These activities include reverse engineering application databases, documenting standardized data names and definitions, maintaining metadata and models in a repository, and supporting the determination of authoritative data sources.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Prepares the analysis and modeling deliverables (Conceptual, Logical & Physical data models) for the IT applications designated in the data inventory.
· Reconcile data models to the business process model.
· Document business/technical metadata characteristics such as data names, definitions, lengths to ensure specification completeness and compliance with standards.
· Identify existing authoritative sources of data that a project can use.
· Analysis of data/source acquisition.
· All data models to be completed in Erwin.
· Works with Database Administrators & other EA Architects to ensure data analysis and reverse engineering expertise is utilized in creating the corporate data architecture component of the Enterprise Architecture.
KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
· Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
· Must have good working knowledge of Erwin data modeling tool.
· Ability to gather and analyze data from multiple applications to generate data models and reports from ERwin.
· Good listening skills
· Ability to listen & follow directions (related to data and reverse-engineering gathering)
· Self-starter
REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE: Requires three (3) years previous experience in an environment where logical/physical data modeling, data analysis techniques, data management and business analysis skills have been demonstrated.
REQUIRED EDUCATION: Diploma in computer systems technology, with emphasis in database design, data modeling, systems analysis, system development methodologies and the use of C.A.S.E. tools.
TECHNICAL SKILLS: Platforms: Windows 2000
DATABASES: Oracle 9i, Sql Server, Sybase
TOOLS: Erwin, PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Visio, Excel.
