Default Tuning by Forged Performance (Sharif)

Hi guys, I would like to put a feeler out to determine how many of our boosted NW members (or even NA for that matter) would have an interest in getting a "group buy" together for flying Sharif out to the NW and do a couple days of tuning?

I've been talking to him, and have most of the details. Now, I'd just like to get the interest level gauged so I can begin planning. Timelines would likely be around 3 to 4 months from now (could even push it out if that works for the majority of folks...)

Obviously, the more interest we get then the cheaper it is for everyone.

Here is our chance to have one of the top 350Z tuners bring out all the potential in our rides! Let me know...

Where would the tuning be done? What shop do you have in mind? I'd love to get a UTEC and have Sharif tune it.

I'm going to be gone on business A LOT in the next three months, but if I'm in town I would be down for it.

We would need to see if anyone in the area has a Dyno Dynamics dyno as (according to Sharif) it provides a much easier tune than using a dynojet.

I don't have a shop or location in mind but if anyone has any suggestions in Oregon or Washington, I'm all ears. Like I said, the more interest we get the better for all of us.

i was going to fly him out about 1.5 years ago, but nobody else was in, so i would have had to pay the brunt of it myself. torquefreaks has the most resonable dyno renting price, but is a dyno-jet. rrev in vancouver is another, but john reed that owns that shop is one of the best tuners in the world, (from what i hear) it may **** him off to bring another guy in, lol.

axiom motorosports has a dynapack in tacoma. They rent it out frequently to other shops. Its a really accurate dyno, pretty good for tuning

I'm still entertaining this as an offer, so I'm surprised that more of us aren't jumping at this opportunity!

What kind of pricing would we be looking at? Obviousily we need to cover airfare, hotel, meals, the dyno time, and I assume there is a fee for his time?

I'll chip in. My car is actually in his neck of the woods, and he is (eventually) going to build it for me, but I'd like to meet him in person again. I won't have anything for him to tune until he builds it out here...but i'd be happy to help out the Z community in the PDX area.

We would be looking at around $300 per car + airfare/hotel. The more folks we can get to chip in then the cheaper the airfare/hotel costs for everyone...

The costs of renting the dyno would also have to be factored in unless we can find a shop that would be willing to sponsor the activity. Doubtful, but I've never tried before...

The pricing looks great. We could cut hotel costs by putting Sharif up in a Motel 6.

I have the most comfortable couch in the NW ....

But yeah, I'm totally in for a 16psi tune

Okay, let's start a list so we know who is in and who isn't...

skidmarq - IN
cersoft - IN
PilotZ - IN
Nismo350ZRT - IN (I think)
BrokeZ - Maybe
Spiffyguitar - Maybe

Scott, I know that you are planning on selling the car but would you have interest in tuning with Sharif before you let her go?

When do we plan on doing this? I'm seriously considering a built motor right now.

I am in no hurry. I have my parts but am contemplating holding off until the spring to build the motor since it is likely going to sit during the winter anyway.

If we still have interest in doing a group buy (and I can get commitment from 5-10 folks) then I will try to set something up for the springtime. This should give folks plenty of time to make their plans and save some money.

Thoughts or ideas?

EDIT: Nismo, you running that APS TT on a stock motor? Dude, build that bad boy

Hey skid, yep I'm running on the stock block. Runs great but I'm already bored with the power. I need 600whp. Next spring would actually be perfect for the reasons you stated. I'm definitely in for next spring.
