Default Visiting Portland

Hey NW z guys. I'm an east-coaster, but I'll be out in Portland next week monday-friday. Can anyone point more towards cool places to hang out, eat, must-see? And if anyone wants to hang out, i'd definatly be up for that too, would love to meet some west-coast Z guys. I will be 350-less however, flying out, and i rented an SUV. Time to see how the other half lives! (The half thats nots sitting 5 inches from the ground).

For food, try getting a reservation at the Portland City Grill. It is up high on the 30th floor and offers a spectacular view...

For a nice hike, head out to Multnomah Falls in the Columbia Gorge...great scenery and a nice hike.

The Pacific Ocean is only a 60-90 minute drive from PDX, if you have never been then I would definitely recommend Cannon Beach for all of its little shops and such...

If you go to Cannon Beach grab a bottle of Chateauneuf du pape red wine from the wine store and stop at Astoria, Workers Tavern for a Yukka and the tower for a pic or two...

If you are going to go to the Portland City Grill, (Which I highly recommend also) make sure and plan to walk through The Pearl District. It's only a short walk from The Grill. There you will find many, many nice shops & more very nice resturants.

Also, what part of town are you staying in? If I knew this, I could give you some more guidance. I live in the Pearl so maybe we can plan on hooking up one night. Oh Hell!!!...If you know you want to go to The Grill, let me know. I will meet you there.
