My parents are stressing about their beach house in Lincoln City. 100mph wind gusts & 30ft seas...house might not be around much longer.

HELLOOOooo...

Anyone still alive out there???

Oh man. I think I had about the worst night sleep due to weather that I ever remember having. The south windows of the house were shaking each time a gust came. I thought our bedroom window was going to get blown in. I slept for all about 3 hours last night. The fence in my backyard is in runis. We lost power around 2AM and I'm hoping we'll have it back by the time I get home <fingers crossed>.

But all 'n all I think we got off lucky. I saw plenty of trees fallen blocking parts of the roads while driving in to work. I can only imagine how unfortunate it would be to have one land on your house. Or worse..... your Z!

What a night... It looks like a war zone out here on the coast... 100+mph winds! Half of the roofing on my condo is GONE!

.... as i was driving home from work yesterday, i took Denny Way to merge onto I-5 near REI flagship store, i was sitting in traffic for 10 mins as i watched the water rise slowly... a few cars were stranded (mostly sports cars).... i was literally driving in a river at that point... i was really concerned my car would get flood damage (i could hear water sloshing underneath my car) and was afraid water was gonna get through my door.... i'm certain the water reached beyond the lower edge of my car... i was about to abandon my car at that point cuz who knows what would happen if the water con't to rise....

do you guys know if there's any damage if the water reached this level?

You're good. As long as you didn't get water in the cabin and you weren't in there too long.

Man that would have been terrible to had to abandon your car. Glad you made it through.

I got lucky, everyone around me is out of power but Lakeland Hills in Auburn is all good! The winds were crazy and lights were flickering all night but thank God my power stayed on!

I love being a heavy sleeper ...I woke up this morning and was wondering why the power was off - then I remembered when I went to slept last night that it was windy.

couple of trees were across the various roads that I usually use to get to work...I kept pick up stupid branches under the car b/c it's so low.

Heard on NPR that close to 700,000 of 1M customers lost their power and large amounts of ppl won't get power for a few days...

All the lights in Vancouver, Bc were off this morning. A 20 minute drive took more than an hour today.

Well... looks like no power at my place tonight. I guess we'll be bundleing-up going to be tonight and throwing on an extra comforter. I tried going out at lunch and every place in Southcenter and Renton was packed. We ended up spending over an hour driving to different places and not getting anything. Even McDonald's had a line that circled the whole parimeter of the store and the line at Starbucks was out the door. I'm firing up the grill tonight seeing what's left in the freezer that we can cook on it.

Oh man! If only I could get that much rotation when I attempt drifting....... Glad to hear you're alright.

When I got home yesterday I was able to survey the backyard and it was a mess. About 50 ft of my fence is in my neighbor's backyard in various pieces. I also found about 5 composite roof singles in my backyard. I couldn't tell if they were from my house or one of my neighbors, I gotta try and get up there to see if my roof is okay.

All & all, we got lucky. A couple of homes in my neigborhood have trees on thier roofs. And around midnight last night we got our power back . The Cable's still out, but I'm at work today and the news looks horrible. Snow tonight?!? OMG... here we go again...

Best of luck to all of you guys that are still toughing it out in the aftermath of this really freaky weather.

I am so glad to hear that nobody in here is reporting disasterous damage! Luckily, we did not lose power where I am at but I was lucky that my car cover didn't get destroyed as it was being torn at something fierce!

Can't wait until my garage is finished...

No power, no high-speed internet, life could really suck.

Thankfully we have a fireplace, but it's not really designed to be running continually for days...

The last 2 days felt like I was camping! I had no phone or power out here in the sticks. Power came back last night and the phone just came back about an hour ago. Hats off to the utility guys...they're doing a helluva job getting us all back online.
