Default Washington Z Club

Guys, I think we should get something going. There is no really organized Z meets here. If the S2K guys can do it, I'm sure we can.

Anyone down for weekly, monthly, bi-monthly, get-togethers in general? Not sure what everyone likes, and I know I myself cannot make it every time (due to school and stuff), but I'm sure we can get like a Northwest Z Club set-up. That would be cool I think.

Any input or thoughts appreciated.

I'm in Briar. I can go and meet anywhere in Seattle Area or East side. I'm up for any kind of cruzin or meet. We all should try to get some more Zs to do this when it gets warm... I have Fri, Sat, and Sun off (yes, I am lazy)... any weekend would be cool for me...

BTW. I hope you all didn't have to drive your Z in the snow last week and last years "Hunukah Eve Storm of '06"(something like that!?). It couldn't be good for Zs....

Why do G drivers always automatically assume they're not included? I would think it would be a given to always include G35 people.

There's a western washington Z car club: http://www.zccw.org/ . It's worth looking into if you're interested.

I'm not a member but I've known a few people who are/were and they're all good and social people to my knowledge.

As for local Z/G meets just for fun (no commitment on anyone's part) I think an activity once ever two months would be good. Being part of a 'club' requires a certain level of commitment and effort to make it all work smoothly. It'd probably be good if we could just get together for activities on a real causal basis; like the go-karting back in Decemeber or the Golden Garden's meet later this month.

Just to toss some ideas for activities for the future:
- Go karting is always fun
- Getting together for an autoX or even getting a group together to sign up for an HPDE
- I'm having thoughts of Johnston Ridge again...
- Getting together for a motorsports event; Fomula D will be back in Monroe on July 14th
- Road Rally anyone?

I'm pretty down for meeting up every once in a while. My days off are thursday and friday though...which would probably make things hard.

We should definitely put FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD into the equation of get-togethers. I know, I am a pig, and I enjoy eating out at every possible moment.

I'd like to suggest that after the NWN Meet, we pick a topic/activity for April or May.

FYI:
- There is a NW Alfa Romeo Track day on Sunday April 15th at Pacific Raceways. I'm considering signing up for it (I'm a little concerned about the weather during that time) but would be more encouraged if other Z/G's would be there.

- The observatroy at Johnston Ridge doesn't open up until the end of May. Until then, the roads will be free and clear of traffic. JRO is a good middle ground between the folks that live in the areas around Seattle and around Portland.

Getting close...the block is currently at the machinist's getting bored and balanced. Shouldn't be too much longer...next time I'm at SVRT, I'll take a couple "teaser pics" for folks to peek at...

Whoa.. didn't realize you were building the block! Bet you get real ancy when you're driving in a temp car and see other Z/G's around huh? While i was builing my car, i'd see other Z's drive by and wet myself dreaming about being in my newly boosted car teasing them with the BOV Too bad you can't hear it though over my exhaust...
Which brings me to another question? I'm assuming WA has smog tests right? Living in ND, we don't have to get our cars smoged and never have to worry about any mods done. You could probably have a jet engine installed and still be alowed to drive it on the street. Point is, there is NO CHANCE IN HELL my car would ever pass a smog test.
