Default 2007 Spring has sprung (late...) watch out for WSP/Seattle Undercover Cars

OK I did do searches, so no flaming, this is a heads up:

Starting to see either WSP or a Seattle police in black R/T Chargers (nice rims too...) late afternoon (~3:45PM) yesterday on Hwy 99 around Seattle Woodland Zoo vicinity.

Their playing the "5-10 mph over the posted speed limit", and baiting looky loos into passing them. No, I didn't get caught in the bait, but saw a G35 take the bait, and sure enough s/he got the red light pullover...

So watch out for the bait game, and don't nibble on it trying to pass them or show them "you're car".

Unmarked cars I have seen:
Pontiac Trans Am(s) (white), again nice rims to draw attention to themselves.
R/T Chargers (black), same mo with nice rims and decal striping on hood and sides.

Any other unmarked "performance" car sightings would be appreciated to add to this thread.

So just remember not to race Domestics and you'll be fine.

I have seen a white volvo station wagon on I-5 down south, and on I-90 I have seen a blue suburban with nice wheels. Both with lights flashing pulling someone over.

Silver R/T chargers as well, all along 520 from Redmond to Seattle! watched someone get busted for driving in the HOV while I was talking on my cell phone, eating breakfast, drinking my coffee, texting on my Blackberry, and filling out a fedex shipping label while driving to work one morning!

I've been seeing tons of marked and unmarked cops from Bellevue to Everette (I-405 to I-5) going both directions...when I'm in the Z, I drive 60.

There was an unmarked cop in the slow lane of I-5 south last week...I was cruising in the 2nd slowest lane at 65 MPH in my Honda CR-V, I saw him about 6 car lengths ahead, and slowed down quickly...I then pulled to the same lane as him - he was driving right at 60 MPH...1 mintue later, a car cruises by @ 65 mph and doesn't notice the cop until they're even - he gets the ticket!

I always thought Nor Cal was bad for police patroling...then I moved to seattle

Ticket for 65 in a 60 on I-5? The WSP are becomiing hard asses. If everyone drives 60, the freeways will be a clogged, moving parking lot. Maybe he/she was pulled over for something else. Hope, hope, hope.

there was no other reason I could see...as soon as the car passed the unmarked cop car, the cop changed lanes to get behind them, then turned on the lights...it seemed like the cop was waiting in the slow lane just for that

that's why I removed my radar detector in the Z and just drive slowly...I get all my fun in autoX/Track...

+1 to the cops on 405 Bellevue/Bothell up to I-5 in Everett. Also look out at the end of 405/start of Mukilteo Speedway. They will sit at the intersection (on bikes), really hard to see. Saw a cop do the same thing, just pulled a red pickup over for doing 65.

Guy in Toronto got pulled over for doing 5 km/h over the posted speed.
He was pissed at the ridiculous ticket so he got a few of his friends together and cruised the highway in formation at the exact speed limit. Traffic was backed up for over 3 miles ---- he got a ticket for blocking traffic.

Go figure... ???

If you're up in BC, just over the border there is a beige Maxima, a dark green Dodge mini-van and a dark blue Chevy Silverado pickup (all with with dark tinted windows) that cruise hwy 99 from the border north.

Thanks for the tip! I will be on the lookout on my next rip to Whistler!

I've seen stuff online, but it'd be great we someone would develope a police spotting system that would tie into a GPS/Nav system...when you see a cop, hit a simple button that sends out your location - all other systems would recevie that data and show cops on your Nav screen...it'd need a lot of ppl to have the unit to make it work efficiently, but it'd be sooooo nice! So, who has the $$ to make this??

I've NEVER seen a cop driving any sort of import. I probably wouldn't even pull over for an import with flashing lights lol. and 65 in a 60? he could have fought that in won, easily.

PS. and radar detectors are legal in WA, why would you take it off? I might take mine down if I got pulled over by a stater with a hard grin.

I took it off b/c 75% of the cops I see are either using laser, or don't use radar/laser at all to catch ppl...so, unless you have a laser/radar jammer, you're taking a bigger gamble if you speed and hope your radar detector will warn you in time to slow down. (In Nor Cal, all the highway patrol used radar...I would usually get 3-10s warning before I saw the cop).
