Damn, what a ****ty morning. Sorry about your loss but at least you weren't hurt. I'm not one to hit a girl but, in this situation, I think I'd make an exception.

Kind of see how that would feel. My contour look like that after an impact. But **** hit the driver side wheel-well in a T bone accident. Very similar look on the accident strangely enough.

My car was beyond f'ed. Granted it wasn’t worth much, but the window crack and the offset of my car gave it away. 11k repair bill for a 4k call = no go.

Make them total your car, you don’t want it back. Although I feel fairly sure they will total it.

OUCH! Noel, I'm sorry to see that. I've never had airbags actually go off either (even in some bad accidents), so I'm really glad you're ok. I'll give you a call to share my experiences with these situations.

Wow. Damn. I'm glad you're o.k, man, that's the most important thing.

The key thing to remember: It's just a car.

Don't get me wrong, I understand that attachment and everything, after all, every single one of us here are car guys (Except maybe Devil Z, I still don't think he really owns a car), so we all have that passion. But, it's still just a car.

Ended up going to the ER since I could not get into see my regular doctor. My neck back and shoulder got worse; it started to hurt when I looked straight up and to my right. They checked me out, took a bunch of X-rays and said nothing was broken, or out of alignment. They prescibed some pain killers and muscle relaxants and told me that tommorrow morning is when it would hurt the most.

I just wanna give a huge thanks to all of you guys that have contacted me to offer your help and to see if I was alright. You guys are the best! Before today I was doubtful that the NW 350Z community was a close and cohesive group. I'm glad that I was proven wrong. If anything, that may be another reason to get another Z if this one it totaled.

The person working w/ me indicated (based on our initial discussion) that it's looking like it will not be an incident that I had any fault in. She also mentioned that there was a note on my file that indicated that the Z might be totalled. We won't know for sure until one of the field adjusters can talk a look at it tommorrow or Monday.

I got rearended pretty bad about 10 years ago -- you're going to have very sore and stiff back and neck muscles for a under a week, probably to the point where you can't bend or stretch hardly at all, but you should be fine after that (assuming the doctors weren't smoking crack about the x-rays).

I feel terrible and I barely know you LOL. I know I'd be in pieces if my car got smashed like that, and I don't have anywhere near the amount of time, money, effort and love that you've put into yours. To think we were all ogling it just 2 days ago. Thankfully you weren't seriously injured, that's the most important part. The car can be replaced, your spleen... not so easy (unless you have connections ).

Makes you think though -- that kind of damage going just 20-25mph... then think about all the stupid stuff we do on the freeways... 80, 90, 100+ mph... sobering to think about.

Let us know if you need anything!

Wish you good luck with all the stuff coming... that you get a lot from the insurance, that you find a nicer new car soon, that you are back to the track soon, and that the bad feelings will soon be over...

Oh man, that really sucks.

Get yourself in to see a reputable D.C. and make sure that you get your back fixed up. Don't do like I did and wait 7 years to get it done (even with 6 months of PT after my accident, I was still pretty screwed up, my wife's D.C. "took on my case" and had me back to nearly 100% for a person ten years younger than I was in about 3 months).

I lost my first Z cuz of an idiot lady in front of me who just jammed her brakes on a two lane highway in rush hour traffic. Need less to say the Durango behind me couldnt stop and destroyed my car. Its a $hitty feeling for a while but when you get another car, it slowly goes away. I've always been a cautious driver, atleast I think anyways but since that accident I never even open up the Z anymore, just cruise thats it. I learned its not worth risking what you work for, especially knowing that there are so many idiot drivers out there.

yeah bro... just like what others are saying... this is the perfect excuse for an 07... but more importantly, its your family and your health.

like PDX was saying... definitely look into some type of check-up (even if u dont feel anything)... your back can act up in 6-12 months from now... my bro-in-law graduated from Bastyr College... he's a chiropractor/PT and knows a few local colleagues he can refer you to....

I woke up this morning wondering if yesterday was just some messed up dream. Sat up, and felt my neck all sore and thought "Well maybe that's a result from that messed up dream I had." Took me a couple more minutes before I decided I better accept reality and quit trying to fool myself.

The neck feels sore, no need for pain killers. As long as I'm not trying to twist my head off to the right or left, it's fine. Is this whiplash? The rest of the body fells fine. The shoulder is alright, and the little scrapes on my chin from the airbag are healing up. The cut on my left arm has scabbed over, I think I may end up having a subtle reminder there of this event.

First350 and another Skoobywrx came over last night to cheer me up. Thanks guys, I needed that. The condolence card for my car and the chrysanthemum was a nice touch. First350 even brought over an '07 brochure for me to look at. Very tempting.

I was up before the daylight this morning and I half heartedly logged on to Edmunds to just browse. Considering current finances and what I might get from the insurance if they decide to screw me, a new vehicle may be in my future. I really like the idea of a 3.7L HR engine, but that might be a year or so away. There's no pressing need for a car right now, I still have the S14, but being mostly stock makes it a poor substitute for my Z. There's always the possibility of getting a used car, which is kinda attractive since I don't have to deal w/ the stealerships.

I don't understand. She was driving in the oncoming lane and crossed the line?

Trust me from experience, take those pain killers anyway. The anti-inflammation properties speed up the healing process.

It is probably soft tissue damage, generally known as "whiplash." There may be some misalignment too, if you haven't yet had an X-ray, GET ONE NOW! Sometimes small fractures can "masquerade" as mild soreness, with an X-ray, you'll know for sure (and her insurance will cover it, as opposed to later they'll deny everything).

I'll recommend Kay at Nissan of the Eastside if you go with another Nissan. She has (had?) a Z herself. Dave in their service department and Mike the service manager have always "done right" by me. They've even taken me out to check out some things when the car has been on the lift (I asked, and they had the mechanic escort me out and back, and didn't get upset about the request, although I don't intend to abuse that privilege).

I consider Nissan of the Eastside one of the better dealerships that I've ever worked with (Tonkin Nissan in Portland is another). In no way do I consider them a "stealership."
