I don't think that anyone that has a Corvette w/o a front plate ever gets pulled over. I believe law enforcement execrises some like 'vehicle profiling' and is more inclinded to pull over some cars than others.

I've noticed that at night or under low light conditions it is very difficult to tell if a car does not have a front license plate since the headlights obsuce the details of the front of a car. Of friends that I know that have been tagged w/ a no front license plate ticket, it has always been in broad daylight during the warmer months of the year.
Thats funny, mine have always been at night, however, it was always on thursday nights in a college town, and cops were usually just looking for drunk drivers on the road

one time i got pulled over for 'driving like a drunk driver' because i was hopping from lane-to-lane. the reason i was doing that was because the center and right lanes on I-5 (going North) gets so LOUD. so since there were no cars on road at 2am i decided to 'hunt' for the smoothest pavement. he thought i was DUI...

but back to the plate issue... i'm still undecided....

Eh the dealer put the plate on mine without even asking. I guess it's because they're required here in Texas. Drilled two big a$$ holes in the bumper. Anyway, i've heard both sides too, some people say they've never been pulled over after years of driving w/o a front plate, and others say they get hassled all the time.

Another reason to not have one, other than aesthetic reasons, is when cops use laser on you, the plate is a GREAT target. It's retroreflective and is a nice flat place to aim. Eh there are ways to kinda sorta get around that too but all in all, I dont think the plate looks that bad.
