Default 06 Oil Consumption and Window Streak in Seattle

any of you guys here have either/both of those problems?

i'm 100% sure i have the window streak problem. except i don't want the dealer to take apart my door (and potentially make things worse). i think the grease is eating away at my window tint.

as for the oil consumption i havent taken it to the dealer for a 'test' yet. i did notice that i do have to add 1/2qt or more of oil in between oil changes.

thinking of starting a case with BBB.

I'm in the middle of an Oil Consumption test... all they are doing is taking a dip stick (low tech) reading every 1000-1500 miles. Not sure what will happen but they assured me that if it was consuming oil they would get a new motor on order for me.

If you do a search you will find a number of owners with new engines as a result of oil consumption problems.

Good luck!

IMO, 1/2qt between changes is nothing, and I wouldn't risk things getting worse with an engine swap. Alot of people who got new engines still burn as much oil if not more. Consider yourself lucky its not excessive, and just keep a quart in the trunk at all times
