Lightbulb Idea for Z Rally in the North West

I've been digging through the Forums and it seems that there’s not really any big plans posted for any rallies in our area. I was thinking it would be a great idea to plan a rally that could meet somewhere like Red Lodge, Montana or Cody, Wyoming. It's fairly central to the North West area and the drive is beautiful. I don't know how many of you have been on the Beartooth highway between Red Lodge Montana and Yellowstone National Park but it is amazing. I have been over it several times on my Harley and I can never get enough of it. There's also the Chief Joseph scenic highway and tons of activities to enjoy. Yellowstone and Grand Teton National park are within a couple hours drive. I know Red Lodge has tons of places to stay. We attend the yearly Motorcycle rally and poker run and that’s getting to be a big event, so they know how to handle a large crowd. It’s a really cool place.

Here is a web site that is actually dedicated to the highway http://www.beartoothhighway.com
And a link for Red Lodge http://www.redlodge.com/

Anyone who is interested just give a shout out or PM me. Or if someone has an idea for another location don't be afraid to throw it out there. I'd love to see some places I've never seen before.

Planning on getting a bunch of people together to drive up to Yellowstone again this year. Usually stay at the lodge since the bars and food are close. Always down to have some more people so if theres an interest then I will post info when it comes time.

Yeah that's kind of what I'm finding out. It's like 800 Miles from Seattle to Red Lodge. So thats a good 12 hours or so depending on how you like to cruise. So a Full day out and back is a lot of time for a weekend event.

My wife and I did a similar road trip last May. Started in Everett, went over Stevens Pass and on to Spokane for a couple days. Headed to Missoula, MT next. Then went a bit east and then south into West Yellowstone. Spent a couple days at the park and then went south through the Grand Teton's and into Jackson, WY. Then headed NNW through a small, very steep (think it was 10% grade or so) pass and into Idaho. Crossed Idaho SSW and eventually into Boise, all on the back highways. Passed through an area on the way to Boise that is a state park that is all volcanic rock...forget the name of it. Left Boise and came back through NE Oregon, into the Tri-Cities, Yakima and then home. Was an awesome road trip and had the top down most of the trip.

There are some amazing roads to travel in that part of the country. I want to get up to Kalispel and Glacier Park this summer it has been a long time since I've been up that way. Another really nice drive around this area is Iron Mountain road and the Needles Highway which is right next to Mt. Rushmore the scenery is amazing. Then the Custer State Park Loop is right there to. That's on the other side of where we are over in South Dakota. I want to plan a roady out to highway 101 and up the coast to Seattle for later in the summer. I have never done that before so it would be awesome to cover some new ground.

hell i got drunk one night and only made it to idaho, lol. btw, cruise control doesn't work over 100mph.
really good drive from portland out 84 east. seems like everyone is getting the itch to do a cruise and so am i. prob is, montana is about as far as reno from portland, sooooo..... lol.
one cruise i have wanted to do though is to leavenworth. that is kind of a mid point for everyone. just have to wait for better weather. snow, road salt, and gravel is not so savvy for the Z.
