I had a huge screw in my tire a few months ago, and took it to the Goodyear on Bothell-Everett Highway because it's like a quarter mile from my house. Anyway, they scratched the hell out of my new rim when they were putting the tire back on. The manager on duty started giving me some line about how they must have already been there, their machines have plastic protectors, etc, and told me to call back the next day when the real manager was there.

I was PISSED because I thought I was going to have to battle with them, but the real manager was not a douche and ordered me a new rim from TireRack.com that day.

Either way, screw taking your car to places that primarily deal with soccer moms and not car enthusiasts.

yeah I waited 5 months to get my Work Emotions and Les scratched every single one of them in like 4 places each. The "real manager" like you were saying had them all refinished. Either way I am not going back there either.

Default Stop f'ing around with "big company" crap. . .

http://www.tightntidyracing.com/ in Kent.

Mounted, balanced, by fellow Z drivers (or were Z drivers?). . .and it's only $50 bucks. After reading a TON of threads about happy my350z.com customers, I'm not going to go anywhere else.

they're not Z owners, but they basically serve the racing/enthusiast community...so close to all of their customers bring them alloy rims and care about the condition - I've had 5 sets of tires mounted by them w/out any problems.

Les Schwab charged you for a patch? Discount Tire does it for free.

TNT does tire repair, but only the plug. I inquired about a patch once and Karl told me that they don't do that. But that was last fall so their repair offereings may have changed.

TNT Pros:
-cheap
-they pick-up / drop-off for local ppl
-great quality (they work w/ autoX ppl who care about their rims and who also try to stretch crazy wide tires on small rims...so they're better than 98% of other shops)
-great/$$ tire changing equipment (top of the line)
-nice ppl (the kind that you would have over to your house)
-Crazy fast autoxer's!

Hey umsta don't let it go man, they scratched 2 of my TE's and I made them repair them, they also ruined 2 of my used tires that came off the rims when i got new ones. End of story they were willing to replace my 2 rims with new ones and I got a brand new /used set(4) of Toyo T1-S tires... Now they have the fear of Volk in them :P
