Are they really? When I last checked them out, a year or so ago, genuine Honda S2K antennas were still around $25 shipped.

Maybe mine isn't genuine Honda, guess I have the better product. Why does it have to be a "genuine Honda shorty antenna"?
Is this like a Nismo sticker, good for an additional 5WHP??

Usually OEM parts are higher quality, which in this case may equate to better reception and or less fading, on a part so cheap, why NOT got OEM if possible?

I just figured the threading on the S2K antenna would work, whereas you don't know what you're getting with a generic?

Someone w/ an EE (or knowledge of radio communications) correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't an antenna have to be sized correctly for the wave length that it will be picking up. Most car antennas seem to be about 3 ft long, my guess is that inside an S2K antenna there is about 3 ft of wound up or looped metallic antenna inside of it even though the whole thing is only about 7" long. I'm guessing that if you only had a 7" metal antenna then you would find that you would not get as good of reception as w/ a purpose build part. I'm just guessing for the most part on this. The shorty S2K antenna seems to work as good as the OEM antenna while being only 1/3 the length.

Integrated antennae FTW! Even though I don't listen to the radio at all.
