what's a sweeper?

 

The Sweeper will travel at the end of the convoy to let the Leader know when the end has caught up w/ the rest of the group or if some complications happen. Should be someone familar w/ the area. It's an easy job, will probably be moving really slow since you have to stay at the end of the convoy. It is not the Sweeper's responsibility to chase down cars straying off from the rest of the group; everyone is responsible for being able to get to GG from Northgate on their own.

I guess I can sweep. I work in the area and should be easy job for me. I have a nav and 2 radios as well.

So, are we gonna try to group up everyone before GG? Or that plan is not happening?

One more thing... I don't mind sweeping but someone have to save me a descent parking spot.. After all, I will be the 41st... So, far...

Anyhow, we must move quick on some of the coordinators, 40+ cars will be tough to handle without decision makers...

Thanks for volunteering Z33VQ35. Who ever leads the caravan will save a spot for the Sweeper since he'll be the first on to grab a spot (easy enough to do). So a good thing about being a Sweeper is that you are gauranteed a spot next to the leader.

Went through the NWN forum the other day and it looks to be A LOT of people coming. It might almost be good if it rains because it'll keep some people from coming. Either way, there will not be enough spots in GG even if the turnout is low... that is... unless it ends up snowing. Looks like a lot of the convys heading there are planning to get there around 9:30AM. If all goes well we should get there at 9AM. In the event that we can not all park along the east side of the lot w/ our backs to the water, park accross from those spots close enough that you don't get boxed in when the rest of the crowd arrives.

 

Something tells me we're going to run out of room. Then again, forecast says there will be a few showers.

 

what time does this meet all go till, and what happens if we need to leave early or cant stay the whole time, are we pretty much screwed?

Last year there was not enough room for everyone that wanted to be there. Parking flowed into the Marina and filled up the parking across the train tracks. This year the parking across the train tracks are not accessible due to road closures so parking will be at a premium.

Once we get there, you can leave anytime you want. The event runs until about 4PM. We've go no plans once we're there, everyone is pretty much on their own unless someone wants to porpose something? The key is not to get caught in a situation where you will be trapped cuz of all the double/triple parking going on. If we get into the spots that we have planned, we'll be free to leave whenever we feel like.
