Im trying the new D2 racing coilovers which just came in. I've never done a coilover install (i usually raise vehicles not lower them). I need a good place to install the coilovers and at a good price. I went to CarNutz because i've seen their installs and they did my tint. The guy quoted me $550 all together for the install, setup, and alignment. Seems high but who knows. Where do you guys get your sh** done?

Mine was 800 cdn with coilover/sway bar/tie rod install, set up how I wanted and corner balanced from a race shop.

u could drive to ft. lewis and we could instal them in the bay. Alvin's been there before. They have all the tools lifts and mechanics on hand to answer any questions. so that would be free + red bull.

Copy/pasted my own post from another thread 1/2 way down the page. It will be far less than what you were quoted. They did my coilovers, as well as Charlie's, and a couple other springs installs for Z/G owners.

As always I'd recommend a couple of my buddies that are ASE certified Toyota master techs. They can do anything, and have access to a couple private shops with lift and everything. They've now done a Vortech 350Z, 2 Vortech G35's, 2 Stillen S/C G35's, and even offered warranties on those installs. Of course they can also handle any suspension, brake, and exhaust related work. They do alot of these sidejobs for way less than the dealership or a normal shop.

I did my own spring install. It was surprisingly easy. Less than 3 hours of work.

+1

Although I only swapped my shocks, I had to take the springs off the OEM shocks and put them on the new ones. Compressing the springs to swap them took most of the time -- well, that and figuring out that I needed to disconnect the front sway bar to get the OEM shocks out and the new ones in.

I am able to do the fronts easily now...haven't done the rears before, but I heard it is easier than the front.

Actually...I wouldn't trust Ernie with the rears either, he'll forget to bolt up one of the rear strut and then yell at you once your car vibrates and you call him up to ask why?!

hahaha
