I want to see what you guys would do. I am either going to put a vortech with a 3.12 pulley on the z or buy a c5 z06. Either way will end up costing around the same. I can get a nice head/cam c5 z06 for around 29-31. or put another 8-10 grand into the z. I would love to see what you guys would do!

 

My father had c5 zo6, and those things are sick. You can stay N/A with that vette and put down some good numbers and power. I would go with a vortech'ed Z because i think the Z looks better than the c5 vette.

 

yea I have a lot done to the z thats why I want to keep it. But the z06 can put down 400whp bolt on and over 450 with h/c even with a vortech I won't be close to that. plus the low end torque.

 

as much as i like the Z...i'd say to go with the Z06

 

do the Z06. value will stay stable for a long time, good chance of getting your money back out of it with mods too.

 

Well if you are wanting a car that can produce a very reliable 450whp, then i would go with the vette. If you want something that won't be as powerful, but (IMO) looks better, i would stay with the 350z. The power that vette can produce with some N/A mods and a tune, will out perform your vortech'ed Z anyday.

 

I know I'm a member of some corvette forums and a vortech z cant touch even a bolt on zo6. Plus The z06 gets better mpg to.

 

really depends what you are looking for...

looks are subjective... it depends what you want out of your car..

the vettes can put down nice numbers N/A... and the C5 zo6 handles very well, so you dont need to do much to it, a nice set of rims really sets them off.. its also nice having alot of torque available very quickly... they also get great gas mileage...


at the same time you said you already have alot done to your Z, they handle well, Vortech Z's also put down nice numbers... but will still have trouble with bolt on C5 Z06's....( I am sure ther are exceptions, but speaking in general terms)...

So it really depends... go test drive one and see how you feel

 

Z06 as much as I love my Z I worked at a chevy dealership and resale on those things are ridiculous.

 

I'm going to test one this weekend. we will see I think once I drive one I will have to get one. That seems to be what everyone in the vette forums says. I also think they look great, but I've always loved the z it's a beautiful car!

Agreed. I'd take a C6 Z06, but the C5...nope.

 

honestly i think the C5 looks better(except for the C6 z06) .especially when they are parked next to eachother. but lately the C6 has really grown on me.... the interior of the C6 is much nicer than the C5 though....

and the C5 z06 is faster (not by a huge margin) than the C6 up till the 08 model... the LS3 is a monster

 

I actually like the look of the frc models more then the c6. so thats not an issue.

I had a Z traded for a C5 Z06 and now have a Z with Vortech. The Z will look cooler, run slower and be way more expensive in the long run. If money is an issue at all, I say go with the Z06. I have well over 50 K in my Z and I will be putting more into this week. The Z06 is very fast out of the box and I never put a dime in it and it always worked.

 

werd, like I said a nice set of rims really sets these cars off and makes them look completely different....

either way SC or Z06 you cant really go wrong....

 

+1, C6 is beautiful but I still love the c5 body. A procharged c5 z06 would be plenty fast for me

yea there are some supercharged ones I could get for not much more. Money is sort of the issue, the z06 most likely wont need to be fixed all the time but with FI in the z well you never know. That 8 grand could be a lot more really quick.

 

I would try to pick up an 05 C6 vette over the C5 Z06
