what is a "lan" party and what is "cs"? i must be out of the loop!

 

LAN = Local Area Network. Basically, a bunch of nerds get together and set up a LAN and play online multiplayer video games such as CS (Counter Strike).

Well, I'm now a 42 year old computer 'NERD' with 2 degrees; Network & Server Administration, and CIS, and I am an IT at work.
My friend and I started this clan in 1999.
We started competing in 2000.
Since then we have been ranked in the top 50 clans in the world with over 60 active members.
And at one time, our CS server was in the top 10 most popular places to play.
This is the 7th Summer LAN (also host a Winter LAN) I'll be hosting, but probably the last since World Of Warcraft has destroyed the CS community.
My LANs have gone from 60+ computers to 25-35, and this one looks like it may only be around 25.
Time to retire.

 

Gary's a N3RD! Anyway, I must be a nerd also. Playing CS since 1999 when I was a freshman in HS bahaha. I was never big on the clan thing, but I could hang with the PCE (Gary's crew) guys no prob! I don't play much anymore, just my PS3 mainly. I am not computer person either, but do have a BS in BA opt. in Finance and a job in the financial markets.

Oh, and lets get a meet going sometime soon. And please not always on the westside!

I'm down for a meet. Sonic is too dang far away though, Hillsboro, thats like the western edge of Oregon . But yeah, maybe something closer to downtown as it will be middle ground for east and west portland people.

That's pretty centerly located, maybe south for some people, but I'm down for there or around there.

 

i forgot about pir wednesdays. it is getting to be a pretty big show out there now. 800 cars and about the same number of bikes plus drag racing! gunna try and make it this next wednesday.
