Damn, my cars not ready.
Since I put the AAM Angled Plenum Spacer on, and upped the nitrous shot, I need to get it in to get the UTEC re-tuned.
Been too busy with the remodel.
Hopefully I'll have it tuned sometime in the next 2-3 weeks.

Just in time for Fall...

I am down, just need to know when and where. Maybe plp in the aloha/beaverton area can meet up and head to wherever the destination is that everyone decides on.

Hmmm.
The Kitchen is done.
But we signed papers with CR Tile in May for a new 35x15 patio and complete finished patio cove with skylights, fans, and other things.
Paid them $8500.00 down, and they still haven't broke ground 3 months later.
First they blamed it on the architect for the delay. Then they applied for permits with designs that weren't stamped by the architect, and without any earthquake specs. And now they are going back and forth with the city trying to get a permit for a damn patio cover.
By the time the patio cover is built, the summer will be over.
Frustrated!

Sorry to hear man. Word of advice, don't put very much money down. Pay for the permits and maybe 10% down for materials. Then maybe do an installment plan as work is progressing. IE 40% after partial work, remaining 50% on completion. If a contractor won't work under these terms, find a new contractor.

They require 50% upfront, so we paid it.
This company was rated as one of the better ones on a site called 'Service Magic'.
We thought we had gone with a good rated company, but obviously ratings can be deceptive.

service magic does not do any feedback type things for contractors. angieslist does only allows businesses on there if someone has something good to say about them. then as others use that business and leave comments, you get very detailed desciption of how the project went.
typically i only work with 50% down (on jobs up to $10,000) and then a 3 or more progress payment depending on amount of job. but, i only ask for a check the day of starting work on the job.
hopefully you are not getting the run around. might want to do a contractors board background check on them. maybe bbb also. i could pull a permit for a patio cover in 24 hours at nearly any county/city in oregon! it isn't living space and not required to have the inspections as living space. only thing the city will need to see is that you are within your setbacks, shear/snow loads, footing and beam size. none of which requires a structural engineers stamp for just a patio cover, even if it is attached to the house.
not trying to get ya scared and it may be on the up and up, but there is some sh!tbags out there, and believe me, servicemagic is a scam themselves!!
if there is a problem, you can go after their bond. typical bonds are for either $5k (specialty contractor) or $10k for limited contractor, and $15k on all structures contractor. do some research because if they have had problems with other people, their bond amount can already be spoken for! a ccb search will let you know their bond amount, any claims against them, and if they are currently legal.

The wife did a BBB before we started.
I've been calling both the CRTile and the Canby permit office to make sure no one was yanking my chain.
The permit should only take one day, but the building permit guy in Canby, Bob, is well know for being an A-Hole.
I've heard stories from several other people that he is **** about everything.
And a neighbor that is a contractor I talked to said he can't wait for this Bob guy to retire because he is such a pain.
He told me that someone else in my housing project added a patio cover, and they had to have it redone because Bob said the pitch was not enough.
So we've been careful about everything.

The whole time issue with the company we are using is that the architect took over a month to draw up the plans.

We got word last night that everything has been approved and they are picking up the permits today.
Work starts in 2 weeks.
Yeah!

Any of you guys ever tried auto-x?

If anyone wants to meet up on either Saturday Sept. 6 or Sunday the 7th I'll be at PIR for the two auto-xs. I run in the morning session, but if I'm not busy the rest of the day I'll probably run the afternoon sessions also.

I can help you class your car as well as learn the ropes of auto-x.

That could be fun. Do you need a helmet? How much does it cost to run?

They have loaners helmets available. It's around $30-40 for non-scca members.
