Joes (orig. GI JOES) has plenty, redtop 179 yellow 189 blue 189 i believe. but when i worked at car toys they cost 109 119 139 for employee. you could buy the knock off ones that are saposed to be better kenetix i think they were called

Allied Batteries (right by the I-405 & Hwy-167 interchange) in Renton use to sell a lot of Optima Blue tops for a good price. I think I saw the Blue tops being sold at Costco for ~$150. I think there are atleast 2 different types of 12V Blue tops, not sure which one Costco is carrying. If you find a good deal locally post it, I'm looking for some Blue tops too.

According to the Optima website, I need either the 8020-164 Red Top or the 8040-218 Yellow Top for my G. Is that not correct?
Didn't even know there was a blue top...what is that one good for? From what I remember, red is for cranking power and yellow is deep cycle.

Basically, if you plan on running a 1000+ watt stereo system when the car isn't running, get the yellow top. Otherwise, you can get a red top and save some cash. Even with the red top, you can leave your headlights on for a week and the battery still won't die.

I would stay away from braille batteries. There is a few threads in here about that company and how they have screwed members and moderators out of money... I like optima...i used to run 2 blue tops in my old lexus. Stage performance in Kirkland carries them, and the owner Tuan has some hook-ups for them as well. Costco does carry the blue tops as well. Also, the reason it says that you cant run the blue top in your car is because the blue top is designed for marine use, and the posts are in a different location. You should still be fine.

Thanks for all the info & suggestions. Will they drop right in, or will I need some type of install or mount kit?
My system is only 500w, although with a 1Farad cap my interior lights still dim when the gain is cranked up. Other than that, just a few electronics like gauges, fmu, and EDFC.
