Which is sort of odd, because I've seen articles about how much the State could save by NOT having to stamp out 2 plates.

Think of all the metal, time, etc. Millions.

I bet if someone came up with "Hey, save the planet, don't waste metal, Washington is a GREEN state" we could get rid of that front plate.

I don't understand why there would need to be an insurance increase since the only one in danger is myself.

I could understand an increase if by me not wearing a belt or helmet put someone else at risk, which it doesn't.

ultimately, someone would need to pay for you. The insurance can absolve itself by stating that you neglected to wear the simple security/protection your car is equipped. You can dig in and find millions of litigations. the insurance companies are ******. Cant say it better than that. They want your money so does the government.

you edited your other post while i was responding you sneaky bastard

you're right, someone would need to pay for me.
If injured I would assume it would be my Health insurance...but there's that word.....(( assumption ))
If terminated in said accident...again, insurance....Auto, Life, or my family would end up bearing that burden.

I do try as much as anybody else (( if not more )) to pay attention to what I'm doing behind the wheel.
I'm fully aware of the risks involved and do try to protect myself...but still...I feel it should be my choice.
My body, My life, My choice.

I'm not putting anybody else's health at risk if I choose not to Click It to avoid a Ticket.

Hypocrisy is the word. People will continue to disregard the law merely b/c of their own perception. I am ok with wearing a seat belt, but other things such as front license plate and window tint go according my understanding of good. Arguably window tint can be dangerous too.

I got pulled over in Whistler for not having a plate on my Jeep but thats it. I also got a warning after i got a parking citation but I've been driving both my cars for years without anything, at least in the states. I honestly don't think a cop would give you sh*t for not having a plate.

Now that we've pretty much hijacked this thread...

Don't get me wrong...I'm ok as well with wearing a seat belt, if it's my choice. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. That's just the way it goes.

To be honest, I usually buckle up when I'm about to do some spirited driving or I know the road is gonna get a bit twisty...I don't want to slosh around the cabin do I? I might lose control and scratch the Z....cant have that !! As you said , Insurance companies are ******.

But to get back on topic...I could care less if there was a law or not for the front plate. I signed the petition anyway. Though I must say, our Z's would look better without the plate.
There are a mulitude of laws created not for our safety or wellbeing, but purely for monetary gains by others.

Nice chattin' with ya Zimo....I gotta go put gas in the car now.

Stay away from Ruston Way in Tacoma unless it's mounted. Last Summer the TPD were nabbing people left and right.....even if the plate was on the dashboard.
