theres an RCW in WA state, if there is no FACTORY provided mounting point for the front plate you DON'T need to have one. i could make some holes in the front end on my G35.. .but why bother and i have yet to get pulled over for it, or even given a warning. heck i drove for over 100 miles and didn't get pulled over when my temp tag from the dealer fell off on snoqualmie pass

You're going to have to print that RCW out. I'd like to see it.

(I'd also like to keep a copy in my cars just in case. I haven't run a front plate on either of my cars since 2004. No tickets yet...but of course I probably just f-ed myself.)

"In cases where the body construction of the vehicle is such that compliance with this section is impossible, permission to deviate therefrom may be granted by the state patrol."

Key words "MAY BE GRANTED" by the state patrol.

So if the cop says no go, guess what.....

In other words, if everyone else with your type of car is running a front plate, I'd imagine you'd have a hard time convincing them otherwise.

How is that reasonable? Should skateboarding be outlawed? How about mountain climbing? How about "fast food" lol. There are quite a few things that we humans do that can kill us and telling us we need to wear a helmet and seatbelt is a way to make money.

If you kill yourself, it's all on you.

What's going to stop you from being killed or badly wounded when you get into a motorcycle crash? Helmet isn't going to help except to preserve your head when your dead. And if this is the case, why do we need a seatbelt law for the car.

Btw, I ride bikes. I wear my helmet and wear my seatbelt too, but it's my "choice" and not because i'm afraid to get a ticket.

I've been pulled over three times without a front plate and never had an issue. Even if I did, I'd just pay the ticket and leave the plate off. I've even have the Stillen license plate mount that connects to the tow bar and I still don't use it because I like the plateless look.

Ha Ha.....I must've cursed myself by signing that damn petition!!

Just got nailed by TPD driving on Norpoint Way. The motorcycle LEO was using Ka band when my X50 spotted him. Made sure I rolled past him at 40 but apparently he had enough time to notice the plate isn't there.

RCW 46.16.240.1 "missing plate" @ $124
