Pardon the thread creep, but I want to do the North Cascades Highway from the West side over to Winthrop sometime this summer.

Why not meet earlier and get there before the 500+ cars. Fun drive (or ride since I was on a bike), but as it was mentioned, parking is hell.

Hwy 2 is kinda fun but beware the cops sit on the shoulder just about 2 miles before you enter town.

I-90 is about the same fun as Hwy 2 but it really gets good when you're winding thru Hwy 97....lots of left / right sweepers....just don't get caught behind a motor home.

 

well, i am hoping that i will see some Z's. I am planning on spending the night at Wenatchee.

Cops are aint completely stupid, they read forums too, they will be waiting for you on every corner.........so be smart and pick a proper method of donating to your states budget.


I would be down for a cruise (with a proper crowd) 500+ cars 99% of which will have defected gaskets between drivers seat and the steering wheel don't seem to be an exiting idea.

 

that's why i am leaving earlier than everyone. There are several people with me so far that will go with me to the meet spot at BCC and take off right after we make the donation. I wanna be in Leavenworth eating a greasy burger when everyone rolls down there trying to find a spot. I will check the cars out and head back. Believe me, i don't wanna be with this kind of crowd simply b/c i know myself and i know i would end up getting pissed at someone's stupidity and raging on the road. LOL

you won't be able to find anything in Leavenworth. I tried.
On the other hand, i am spending the night in Wenatchee. The prices of the hotels are reasonable.
