thanks everyone. it definately doesn't look like your typical "street car" hahhaa. there is ALOT of rubber on the road for such a light car.

DAMN!
Nice Buy!
I would have snagged it also at that price!
Damn, I live in Canby and work on Swan Island. I drive by Tigard every day.
You need to invite me over so I can see it up close. I'll try not to get any drool on it. =)

Speaking of Corvette Summer, I was 13 at the time.
I'm originally from Calif, and my older cousin use to work at Korky's Kustoms, the guys that built the 2 Corvettes for that movie. My cousin did some of the bodywork on it. I got to see one of them up close. It was pretty impressive at the time. LOL.

Hope to see you at PIR - but I don't know if you'll be able to get in. From what I understand only vehicles from the featured car clubs can enter. I'm a member of NorthwestZ car club and got my pass into the show through them......

I'm booked on weekends for all of July.
Garage sale this Fri-Sun at my house.
Next weekend is the All 1980's class reunion for Canby High. 1980-1989 classes all in one place O_O.
Then the 30th-2nd is my 8th annual LAN party that I host every year at a hotel near the Portland airport.
I'll be recovering for a week from that one. LOL

Very Gone in 60 Seconds like -- and no kids, not talking about the one with nick cage.

Def a special car you have there. How rare are they? 100 made, a 1000 made? There can't be too many.

says there was 1000 made, but i believe that was all of manta's models. i heard there is roughly about 100 estimated mirages left. there is maybe 50-60 in the registry. the manta forums have 500 members, but does not account for previous owners who may have sold their cars.

well finally got it running. it sounds like it has a very mild cam in it. actually alot quiter than i thought it was gunna be. more problems are popping up. one freeze plug has a leak, and it is super hard to shift between gears. front end feels very unstable. just the stupid vw front. have a line on a full c5 corvette front suspension for $250!! hard to pass up.
i have a brand new 280 degree cam, lifters and springs that i am gunna toss in it just so i know what i have. did a compression test and all cylinders were within 3lbs of eachother at 190lbs. that is very good and my guess at comp ratio based on those #'s is 10.5. cool thing is i can totally tear this engine down, and put in all my extra hp stuff and wrap it up in a day, lol. so i better get cracking so i can fire it back tonight!
got 2 sets of projection fog lights and 55w hid conversions. got one side finished this weekend and will take a pic. WAY better lighting now.

well, I had hopes for this car (which is gorgeous) when I started reading this thread, but I only made it to page 2 before I realized that my fear you would ruin this car were legitimate.

wtf.

put the stock wheels back on... now.

... you know that picture isn't wheels, right? FAIL.

Also, wheels is one of those aesthetic things that weigh differently for different folks. I hardly think that even remotely constitutes "ruining." I could very easily argue that SA70s are fail too.

he isn't ghetto rigging anything, he's putting some serious rubber to the ground and personalizing it via color choice. pretty tastefully and professionally done, even if it isn't your style.

bad comparison there amigo

you just roam the site being an idiot? hardly call a set of 3 piece forged wheels in those sizes as ruining a car. go be a dip@#$ somewhere else.
i was a sponsor on the site and have been on here for 5 years now. how the hell do you get 16,000+ posts unless you are just dribbling crap out of your keyboard?
