Talking engine install

so finally finished up with summer sessing at wsu..
and now its time to fix my car back for the summer
I believe my 03z has a rod knock or something, so i am planning on just swapping the motor.

Do you guys know anyone or a shop would do such a job for reasonable fee?
any inputs will be greatly appreciated..

Don't know of anyone who can do that.

Have you thought about rebuilding the motor with forged parts?

i just figured this was the easiest way...

Found several motors available for purchase.. from what i've been told, just replacing the motor is a faster solution..

At least this way, i have a spare motor to build, while i gather additonal funds for the vehicle.. hehe

well, i had saved up almost 5k, so i figured at least 1-2k for an engine and 1-2k for the swap and i should be back on the road with fellow z-members sometimes this summer..

Would love to do a 2jz swap, but that is a bit out of my price range... hehe..

2jz swap kit = 2 grand. You can find a pretty cheap 1jz or 2jz with decent miles.
I don't know how much it would be to pull the motor, but I doubt a VQ35DE is 1-2k.
Another option would be a build the **** out of a SR20DET and strip your car interior?

Personally, I love inline 6 engines more then V6's. That's why I really want to save up for a JZ or RB swap.

EDIT: Barker, that picture is ridiculuzzzz

The problem of motor swaps are...you don't just swap out the motor. There are so much other things invoved and plus you have to spend more money to get the power you need. At the same time, I like the inline 6's myself.

I wanted an RB swap and I was told that it would cost as much as building a vq motor.

Yeah it is a PITA. The wiring is where everything gets shitty imo. Yes, it can get costly, because you don't want a stock motor when doin the swap, while the motors out mind as well just build the **** out of it and put it in.

Here is the link to the 2Jz swap for the 350z. IF you are really interested in doing a motor swap.

And the thread where a guy put a 2jz in a 350z. Ugh he failed with exterior mods.

I don't know about those wheels and the stickers, but it looks like he has the Nismo body kit.

Sunghanmo: If you plan on getting some hp and want a strong motor, stroke the VQ and drop in a TT. They can build the long block with a 4.2 stroker for 12k+. Stroking the motor can get you more hp without having to put in race fuel (from what I understand). And i'm talking mid 600 to 700 whp.

This is hopefully my future build, once I pay off some bills.

What's a Sunghanmo? Is that like North Korean or something?

Do it yourself if you have the tools...
It's a fun weekend of drinking beer and busting knuckles...
