Really cool guy. Chatted with us for like an hour. I think he did more good just by being interactive. All the neighbors stopped by to say hi, and felt safe. The guy just parked next to us, turned the lights on and came to BS. LOL
I got pulled over last summer with expired tabs, no proof of insurance, no front plate, and the guy just wanted to talk about cars.
Some cops are pretty kewl and understand the whole car/bike thing and some are just pre-madonnas and want to feel like they have to make a statement. Granted they are doing their job, they just don't need to be an azz about it. Just give out the ticket and call it good.
Short stories:
Bellevue cop let me go even though he pulled me over for doing wheelies from light to light.
Kirkland cop pulled next to me after I passed him doing 100+mph on my bike and he just smiled and drove off.
Here's a funny one, but nothing to do with letting me off the hook.
WSP in Lynnwood (I5) tagged me for going over 100 on my bike and gave me a ticket. My lawyer got me off of the speeding ticket, but the judge wouldn't let me go scott free. So the lawyer got me off with the "no seatbelt" ticket.
