Nope, license plate on the window will not save you! Contest the ticket and ask the judge to amend it to fix-a-ticket! Then you have to show you car with the license plate on

just zip-tie it on and take a couple pictures to court.

ah, front license plates suck. I'm glad indiana doesn't have that.

how exactly do cops see anything on a front license plate when the car is driving by anyways? the only time i see it useful to police is when a vehicle isn't moving.

Depends on the citing officer and judge I guess. Thing is, from what I can tell, it should be allowed under RCW 46.16.240 regulations.

I just tell the cops I bought the car like this, or it fell off. Having it on your front window is way dangerous, imagine getting in an accident and that thing flying towards the passengers neck. Yuck.

Yeeeeeeeah no. He can't arrest you for getting gas. And it doesn't matter what you drive.

Default Fines are revenue for the bastards

LE is incented to harvest your dollars for traffic violations and have no reason to give anyone a break. With the budget crunch raising money with fines is a way to keep themselves on their payroll.

Traffic court is the only place where you are not entitled to a jury of your peers. It's whatever the judge feels like and there is no appeal to whatever they decide.

I'm not trying to sound like I don't care that you got nailed. The whole system sucks and it will never change.

At least OP seems to realize that he knew he was gambling without having a front plate, and while it sucks to not get a warning and to get a ticket for it, he was indeed breaking the law and simply got caught.

A Nissan dealer in the PDX area said they aren't mounting any front license plates on Z's and couldn't understand why I wanted to mount it even though they know it's the law. They said no one ever gets nailed for it.

I went with the Z-bracket which I like infinitely better than the stock mounting system. While I really don't want a front plate at all, the Zb is the most tolerable of any of the solutions I found.

I wonder if this ticket carries points like a moving violation as far as insurance goes?

Wasn't there a petition about the front plate law in the state of Washington? They were not requiring it so they can save money on making plates, and use it to fix roads and such?
