2 totally different beasts. A RWD 2-seater vs. an AWD 4-door sedan. One is sexy, the other is more utilitarian. One is definitely more practical than the other, if it's your only car. If you can get away with a 2-seater or it's not your only car, then I'd say 370. EvoX is faster and probably cheaper to get power out of, but at the end of the day it's a Lancer.

They are cheaper than that now. We can look later, BTW your trunk should look like this

MR C L E A N

AND you should have 8 other MR emblems. One on each wheel. One on the grill, one on the back, one on the roof, and one on the hood. And you can "cover" the roof with carbon fiber.

Actually scratch that, M3s have CF roofs stock, I say we cover your roof with CF and badge your car with BMW emblems.

Why only these two? There are alot more choices in both segments. A brand new 370 is used 335i territory. 2 or 4 door, 300hp at the wheels stock and boost moddable.

Comparing prices, a base 370 is 29k whereas the base Evo (GSR) is around 33k. So while the argument that the Evo is "cheaper to make faster" might be true bc it is turbo'd, it is def skewed.

Since, the Z actually is about 4k less and for that price difference alone, one could easily get full bolt-ons for the Z: intake, exhaust, tp/hfc, pulley, headers, and possibly a tune to make pretty much the same power as the Evo with mods AND cost less. I'm sure all of you know that the 370 is a beast with bolt-ons making 50-55 whp w/o a tune. So with a tune, the Z is probably capable of 340-350 whp NA.

Also, the Z looks better. If you have no need for back seats, then get the 370 imo.

prices for 370z in the seattle area:
http://www.cars.com/for-sale/searchr...ice&sf1Dir=ASC

prices for evo x mr in the seattle area:
http://www.cars.com/for-sale/searchr...gId=2102&rd=30

prices seem on par with each other. who would buy a base 370z anyway? might as well buy a hyundai genesis and save $5-8k and make it even faster than a 370z (same logic as yours. plus a genesis looks a hella lot better than a 370z)...

As far as I know, the Evo X only has two trims: GSR and MR whereby the GSR is considered the base model.

http://autos.msn.com/research/vip/tr...lution#priceit

http://www.edmunds.com/new/2008/mits...45/prices.html

Compare the price of the GSR to the base 370:
http://autos.msn.com/research/vip/tr...odel=Z#priceit

http://www.edmunds.com/new/2009/niss...17/prices.html

What is wrong with a base 370? It would arguably be the quickest 370 save maybe the Nismo. The problem with your Genesis argument is that we are only comparing these two cars with their respective models as these two are the OP's choices. IMO, the Genesis is ugly and the 370 is way better looking but to each his own. 370 > Evo X (barely), Evo X > Genesis
