selling the manta!!
well guys, it was fun while it lasted, but i have found the new love of my life! no, she doesn't have big ***** or a nice butt (well kind of) or sexy legs, but rather 4 tires and breathtaking performance! i saw the factory five gtm about 30 hours ago and have been obsessed ever since. so the manta must go.
with the condition of the car and all the work i have done, i feel $25k to be an extremely good price and not willing to waver from it.
here is the other thread i had going to explain the history, performance, and the work i have put into the car since i have had it.

pm if interested, chace of a lifetime to have something crazy like this for the price!!

Ah.... yes, the FF GTM. The biggest draw back to that kit car is that you have to buy a 1997 or newer Corvette - AS A DONOR CAR. Who wants to tear apart a nice 2000 Corvette into several hundred pieces - ruining the car - to build a very loud, rough riding tube frame track car? Some, after getting the kit and donor car, think it is better to just to enjoy the performance of the Corvette and try to return the kit. But you can't return the kit after you buy it. I'm sure you have done your research and know what you are getting into....

alot different when you already have alot of the donor C5 suspension and the porsche transaxle already sitting in your garage getting dusty! lol
i have priced out the rest of the donor parts and a quick search shows i can wrap up the rest for about $1500, even less if i drove hard bargains and found deals. all that woud be left is an LS1, which i have seen for as low as $1800 and even one locally for $2000 with complete harness and computer. ff will reprogram for free. i can build a normal 350hp ls1 into a 500hp engine pretty cheap.
in other words, with the parts i already have and my scavenging abilities to rock some great deals, i can wrap the whole thing up for low $30's. seems like the best option for me.

You can pick up a 91 - 96 Chevy Caprice with the LT1 engine for around $1,500 - and get the computer with it. Sounds Like you'll have some fun building a GTM ....

the gtm chassis is set up for the LS1, not the LT1. they also include the trans adapter, engine mounts, and flywheel for the mating of an LS1 and the porsche trans. i asked if they could eliminate parts of the kit if i decided a different engine combo and they said they will only sell as full kits.
the LS1 will be a little bit more to start with, but you can get alot of good streetable power out of them for not much money.

pretty tough to argue any other car in the world if i can build it for low $30's. the interior also comes pre-upholstered in suede!!

I think I just figured out where part of my $85,000 reenlistment bonus is going in a few months. Was planning to build another street rod or picking up a twin turbo Dodge Viper I have been eye balling for a year or so but I'm all over this.
