Default Stolen Corvette

I always here about these happening but I didn't think it would happen to my Dad.

My dad's 1998 C5 corvette in Silver has been stolen up in Seattle and it happened around an hour ago from what the body guy told us. My dad had it at a guys house for body work for around 2 weeks now. One thing that makes it distinctive is probably the primered whole front end. What's weird is that the body guy never called the cops....wtf. I don't think he's very sharp. It may have been towed cause the cars key's weren't in it.

If anyone see's one in or around this area post up or give me a call at 253-302-6811

I really hope he gets it back.

The area where it was stolen from was

9924 34 Ave SW
Seatlle, Wa

There is no license plate but the VIN number is 1G1YY22G2W5115169

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Only other distinctive features I can think of was the C6 wheels.

Yeah, if he didn't call the cops as soon as it disappeared... that's dodgy.

Dodgy indeed, who steals a 1998 vette anyway? Don't they electronic transponders or something in the keys to prevent theft anyway? I smell inside job!

yes they do... and this sounds shady as hell.... but insurance companies typically wont give out money unless the keys are in the owners posession....

when my honda was stolen i had to search for like 3 hours til i could find the second key... i was freakin out for a bit

They found the car luckily and you guys are totally right The guy took it out for a spin from what my dad told me on the phone today and he crashed it, left it, and then went home and called my dad and told him it was stolen.

The car's not the fastest thing around but jesus when you can step on the gas at 60 and have the rear end come out it's not an easy car to handle. I'm guessing that's what happened and especially now that it's wet out even more so.

Anyways I'm glad they found the car but I don't even know how much damage was done.

Thanks for the help and mods can close this thread.
