350z -vs- 1988 Corvette Lingenfelter
I raced a 1988 Corvette Lingenelter from a 55 roll to 115. I barely won. His nose was at my side view mirror. If we would have kept on going he would have won. Afterwards, we stopped and talked. He just got the car a few days ago and really hasn't learned how to shift very good yet. He has a very weird tranny -- it was a 7 speed, 4 up, 3 down. Once he learns how to properly shift his car, he will definitely beat me next time.

Oh yeah, I think he said that he should be putting down 350rwhp/~400rwtq @ 8-10psi. Keep in mind that this was a relatively old vette and sounded a little rough around the edges.

I don't think it is a conventional 7-speed. I know some 'vettes came with a "4+3" transmission.. basically a 4 speed manual w/ a 3 speed auto tacked on the end like a Gear Vendors overdrive unit, although that would theoretically make it a 12 speed. I don't know if they were used in C4 vettes though.

I had a 88 corvette with the 4+3 tranny. It's a 4 speed with overdrive on 2,3 and 4.When in second gear you push down on the center of the shifter, rpm's fall like you shifted to third.Slam the pedal to the floor it automatically kicks down like a auto.Fun but not very durable.
