Bel-Red Auto Rebuild in Bellevue does good work. Not cheap though.

OEM poly is much harder and easier to prep and paint.

Aftermarket poly has allot more pores so it requires proper prepping cuz it sucks up materials like a sponge.

just called JMI and got their email address and sent them info for a quote, asked if Asen could check his buddy for a quote too. not that price is the deciding factor, I really just don't want to go through a collision shop, they treat it like an insurance case and are just too used to overcharging customers :[

I'll report back with whoever I decide to go with, I am price shopping a bit but most importantly is the shops confidence in this kind of work. I'll be getting both a cf hood painted and a body kit two tone painted. I've had a shop or two tell me straight up they aren't interested already.. lol : )

Which shops are you looking at? I had a shop in Kirkland pAint my fiberglass mugen bumper, pretty good job. I also had a local shop paint my poly bumper, which did a pretty good job. A body shop in lynnwood did body work and paint, did a fantastic job. But I hear jmi is good and Collin had his g35 painted there.

I have contacted JMI, phantasy kolors and a couple of collision shops. I am hoping JMI has a competitive enough price because they are the only one I know of with reviews from forum members here.

I might swing by a shop after work today that rebuilt a wrecked 02 accord I had a long time ago, they did a great job. just not sure how they feel about aftermarket work.

omg - stopped by that north everett shop today. while they were nice and their work is great, they wanted 2600$ for everything. it was 1800 for just the nismo v2 setup in two tone. some of the labor timing was very exaggerated. this is why I don't like collision shops, they are used to gouging insurance companies and can't be too fair towards a non insurance claim

bel red in Everett (same shop as previously suggested, just the Everett shop) gave me a pretty good quote on just the body kit. I talked to them a long time ago. probably going to be either them, JMI (based on price quote), or Asen's buddy.

I'm going with Bel Red in Everett (they have lynnwood and bellevue shops as well)- I'll update next week on how it turned out. they have been super helpful in a number of ways. Really worked on giving me a good price, gave me a tour of their shop and the products they use, reassured me numerous times that the quality of work is their #1 priority and is guaranteed, and even offered to have their pickup truck come grab my parts for me. saves me some grief of finding a truck.

good turn around time too. my kit comes in tomorrow and I expected a wait time, but he was willing to bring it in immediately and begin painting this week and install early next week.

JMI dropped the ball, they must be pretty damn busy. I emailed twice and called twice. they acknowledged they had my estimate request just hadn't had time to sit down and respond, said they would do it last week.. shrugs. not worth waiting around for a response when I've already gotten the cust service/price I wanted.

didn't contact Asen's pal, I meant to, but bel red impressed me enough to secure my business. good folks there.
