Cheveron
adding to the randomness of this thread; anyone else follow a similar schedule for gas?
I use Chevron for 6 months at a time then I switch to Shell for 6 months at a time, back to Chevron. .rinse repeat. I've heard their additives help fight off certain buildup and create their own kind of build up and that swapping the gas you use every so often helps combat this.
am I just stupid?

all those "additives" and stuff are gimmicks. as long as you use a high-quality gasoline everything will be fine. shell, 76, texaco, chevron, are the only stations i use. other than my local safeway when its cheapest because i know they use 76 gas

Do I have to pull out all of my data over multiple years?
I get the best mileage out of Shell gasoline, which is marginally better than Chevron. Chevron now owns Texaco, so it's the same additives.
I got horrible mileage from Arco gas (it has never touched my Z, but I used it in my SpecV as a test), and even worse from whatever gas was at Safeway.
I used Conoco/Phillips/76 gas on a trip back east, and while they are rated as a "top-tier" gasoline, I got 10% worse mileage using that than I did when I could find Shell/Chevron/Texaco.
YMMV, but I've got about 7-8 years of records (5 with the Z).
