Default Official: NW Rants and Raves Thread

I'm sitting here at work, when the rest of my cohorts have off. This angers me for a number of reasons, which is why I thought I'd share one of my rants, which led me to this idea- a place for us all to share our angering thoughts of work, people, friends, family, etc. So I'll start it off;

I work my *** off, and my bosses see that and recognize my efforts... It sounds great, right? HELL NO, IT SUCKS! I am currently at work as I said before, while all my peers are enjoying their nice day off... Why? Because I'm one of the only people they trust to do stuff around the office. FML.

Anyway, what are your guys' thoughts about this whole Rants and Raves section of our wonderful forum?

This is a crappy reality about work. Being a forth generation family business owner I see this sort of stuff all day. The employees that work hard are usually dumped on constantly by lazy employees. Also when we managers look up and need help we go to the good employees and load them down because we can trust them to do a better job. We don't mean to pick on them we just want stuff done correctly and quickly. It is unfortunate because most employees spend more time trying to figure out how to get out of doing work, then it would take them to do the work.

Very true, I have one guy I can trust with work out of four, and in my other section I manage, only two out of eight I can trust.

I'm not like that...gimmee a job and dump the lazy ones.

I hate the economy downtrend as well! I also hate employees with no work ethics! People are reluctant to realizing that team work is what everyone behooves of directly and indirectly! Working with bunch of inconsiderate people is probably the biggest job disatisfaction factor! It highly contribute to absentism and poor performance!

One of the things that sucks the most about the military is the fact that you can't fire inconsiderate poor performing asshats. That leads me to another issue, the Navy has it all wrong, the poor performers get good evaluations, while the people like me, who work their fingers to the bone, get crapped on because they weren't able to get X done.

Oh geez, thanks Mr Supervisorman, perhaps next time you'll take into account that you also gave me ABCDEFG... etc. to do... while you gave those two knuckle heads over there one thing each. "Well I thought you could handle the work load." my response of course would be a straight up, "F*CK YOU." The audacity of some people. Oh well, I have a new guy coming in August- I hope that he doesn't make my life a living hell even more so than it already is.

Chain of comnad that is devoid of basic observational skills will always experience this issue. In fact, delegating a massive amount of work and not "patting you on the shoulder for the job being well done" eventually becomes a problem as well and people get also disatified which adversely affects task performance.
