Default Wondering if someone can help me out

Hey guys, I just bought a pair of 06 Bi-xenon headlights for my 05 Z (base). I knew this wasn't a direct "plug and play" and that there was going to be some modifications for it to work. I read the threads on the DIY conversion, but I'm a complete idiot when it comes to wiring/ soldering, ect, and don't really trust myself in doing this by myself. Just wondering if anybody has any experience with the conversion to 06 headlights, and if someone would be willing to help me out over the weekend sometime. Thanks.

Wiring and soldering is pretty easy stuff. Just make sure that you have the diagrams and double check with a volt-meter. I'd also recommend soft-wiring (just twist the pairs together) to make sure everything works once you've got it all figured out. Then mark the pairs w/ tape and letters (write 'A' on two pieces of tape and put one on each side), then take it all apart and solder and heat wrap it. That's a fairly standard process for most electric work.

You have me wondering...I did an '08 conversion on my '05. The '08 lights have two plugs whereas my lights had one, but it was a really simple DIY.

Once original headlights were removed install consisted of connecting the primary plug from the '05 with the primary plug from the '08; then taping up the secondary plug from the '08. NO soldering whatsoever!!!! Hardest & longest part of the job was removing the bumper...and that took 10 minutes!!!!! Total of twenty minutes to do!

Sounds like your Z already had HID lights. Remember, I have a base model with the Halogen headlights. So there is some modifications required in order for the 06 bi-xenon lights to work.

Here are some instructions how to do it- http://www.wikiautorepair.org/wiki/N...all_HID_Lights

Seems fairly easy. I would just hate to screw something up, especially with the lights being so expensive. If someone is willing to help me over the weekend send me a pm.
