Default RICE Frustration

Calling all asians and rice eaters.

Well, my new years resolution is to go on diet. I've decided not to eat rice to get rid of my belly (so I can see my thing again). I haven't had any rice since Jan 1st. It is so damn frustrating and I just needed to post this new thread to vent

Thanks for listening and your suggestions to make this easier.

Next time we play poker, can we NOT eat at Jujubies? Thanks.

Poor Arvin, you sound like my ex, even though he didn't do it as a resolution. He decided to cut out rice AND noodles one day (he's Asian BTW). Anyway, it was weird not eating rice with dinner every night he cooked even for me since we were together for 7 years. Well, good luck with it, just remember to allow yourself some as a reward every ONCE in a while

Damn Arvin, I can't be as strong as you, I need rice everyday. Just go to the gym and continue eating rice.

I've been doing that but I still gain too much weight around the belly. Evertime I see my co-workers eating rice for lunch at their desk, I just want to beat 'em up so bad and eat a spoonful of their rice.

Everything is good in moderation. Have you tried making your portions SMALLER, and efectivly eating less?

You probabally just need to eat a little LESS, and work out more. Get some excercise ... even if its just taking a walk. Get that heart rate up!

I work out at least 3 times a week for the last year or so. I definitely need to moderate the amount of food that I eat, but in general Filipino foods are extreeeeeemly high in fats and goes really good with rice. I can't control myself to eat little by little.

Let's have a Riceaholic Anonymous for Arvin.....

We'll meet ones a week, chat on how he's doing, show support by taking money away from (by playing poker), and the winner doesn't need to take him to Jujibees.....

That's what I'm talkin about. When I have the munchies I can eat 10c ups of rice and 5 lbs of bacon and banana ketchup.
