Free Bus - ready to go to burningman... To make a long story short, I have less than 24 hours to move a 1970 Thomas School Bus (Ford F600, 8 cylinder gas engine) off a parking lot in downtown Oakland. In order to get the bus to run the following repairs/installations need to be made: install the alternator that I removed because the adjustment bolt had cracked (since repaired), replace fan belt, fill engine with coolant, reattach battery. The last time I fired up the engine was in July, 04 - and it ran fine. The bus is currently 6 months late on registration, however registration only costs about $50/year. The bus is exempt from smog testing. Recreational vehicle insurance costs about $130/year through GMAC. The factory shop manual is included. The bus made it up to black rock city and back. Of course it's painted in exotic colors. Sadly I am ready to retire from this project and pass it on to a new owner.
The bus is all yours if you are willing to:
1) Either tinker with the repairs, get it to start, and drive it off the property or have it towed off the property by 10pm, Thurs Feb 10th and...
2) Pay late DMV registration (probably less than $100)
please contact me via email if you are interested. i have a lot more information for anyone who is interested. Similar buses easily run for $1000-$5000...
