Or if you want to see waitresses with deep voices, go to Asia SF.

If you want a relaxing atmosphere, the top of the Marriot (fourth street) near the Metreon has a nice view. Have a few drinks, listen to some piano.

Or if you like techno and fusion food. Butterfly is kind of fun.

I took a trip out there with a girl once. I don't think you can go wrong whatever you do.

Not that bad, it just seemed like I was paying more for the ambience rather than the food (e.g. I get a more satisfying meal at Cheesecake Factory for less, with more variety to choose from also). I usually get out of CF for around $50 before tip... over $100 at Equinox for less food (but a killer view, one full revolution per hour).

Average is $35/plate (limited menu when I went)... not the most expensive, but pricey in terms of my own satiated appetite. If you're going to be in SF, try it at least once

Thanks for all of the advise. I think I am going to go with Equinox the first night and House of Prime Rib the second.

If at all possible, make reservations before you go. It's easy to do here:

Figured I'd add some Asian food to the list:

Thanh Long: It's a drive from where you are at but it's a small nice Vietnamese fusion style restaurant. Sister restaurant is Crustacean (same on that's now in Vegas - Desert Passage). Both specialize in crab.

Yank Sing: Dim Sum spot in a cool location. Sight seeing possibilities nearby after an early morning meal.

Harbor Village: Also Dim Sum and near the above. Nice view and great food, but I prefer the food at Yank Sing.

Golden Gate Fortune Cookies: Eat and see how fortune cookies are made in this factory in an alley. Pretty crazy operation. A cool sight if you are in China Town.

Oh how I miss living in San Francisco

Yeah pass on the crappy chain restaurants like Cheesecake, House of Prime Rib is an awesome place and unique. For upscale pricier places, you might also want to consider Aqua (Seafood), Postrio's (Wolfgang Pucks restaurant), Ozumo (Japanese) they are all safe bets.

Definitely House of Prime Rib... Or Mortons which is within walking distance from your hotel at Union Square.

Keep your eyes open though, I've seen many athlete's and stars at both. At HOPR I've seen many of the 49ers and more recently last year, I saw the Red Sox at Morton's...

Bob's Steak and Chops at the Omni on California would be my 3rd choice.

Get full... Have fun!
