Return to Highway 9
Was feeling a little restless tonight, and I finally went back up on the hill around 9pm. Didn't go anywhere near as fast as I used to. Maximum was 60mph uphill (for about 1/2 second), and 58mph downhill (because there was a truck in the way during the long stretch). Doesn't matter. It was still fun after all this time, and this was on stock rear tires that've gone through almost 28,000 miles!

man, weather are getting nicer, maybe we should start up the midnight runs again!!
up 9 -> 35 -> down Hwy1 -> up 17
who's in!!
Jason, I have yet another "the night" now with regard to Highway 9.
Still, it felt really nice, even if I wasn't pushing it too hard.
Dave, if gas prices don't go higher, I might be in.

Bruce, Bobby and I (and one of Bruce's STI buddies) decided to make a late night run one Saturday at about 2am. We were driving briskly up hwy 9 when we passed a Sheriff going down the mountain. We figured our pace was quick enough that we wouldn't have to worry about him making a U-turn in his oversized Blazer. What we didn't realize is that he had already radioed ahead. When we reached the 35/9 junction there were half a dozen CHP blocking the road
They let Bruce and the STI driver go after a significant scolding. Unfortunately, I was not so lucky, I was given a field sobriety test. I had not been drinking, but apparently I looked like I had ???? After passing the test they proceeded to right me a ticket for numerous smog violations (exhaust, intake etc- none of which were illegal but cost me time and money to prove). And then let me go. Good times!

This was about 1 1/2 years ago. I haven't been back to hwy 9 since. But mostly because my car is way to loud now!!!
