Uh, he had 2 beers. He lied to the police officer about only having 1. Actually remninds me of the drunk driver who hit my wifes (fortunately parked) car. He completely ignored the fact that he did it and went into a nearby bar. We of course called the cops who arrived very shortly.

The guy busted himself by lying:

Officer: Sir, have you been drinking.
Drunk: No
Officer to Bartender: Sir, have you served this man any drinks?
Bartender: No (obviously a friend of the drunk!)
Officer to Drunk: Then you won't mind taking a sobriety test?

The guy failed miserably which of course proved that he was drunk when he walked into the bar which also proved that he was drunk when he hit my wifes car. This guy had 3 DUI's and was driving on a suspended licence!

We testified in court & sent the guy to jail. Thank god he just hit a parked car. And thank god we got him off the streets for at least a little while. Probably saved someone life and probably his too.

Point being, don't drink & drive. It's the ones that say "I'm okay to drive" that always wind up killing someone.

I'm not slaming you here. Just hoping it was truely a Wake Up Call.

Take care,

David

whoever said they can bust you if they want is correct.

in most states it is while IMPAIRED. not intoxicated. if the officer feels you are impaired in anyway, they can arrest you.... including drugs, alcohol, cough medicine, anything they want.... you got lucky... learn from it. i got off 3 times blowing less than 0.08 and the cops let me go (i was 0.01-0.03) the 4th time wasn't so lucky. learn from it, i know i didn't and it really sucks (got one in march last year, blew 0.08).
haven't driven after any alcohol since.... i thought i was fine, it doesn't take much to get to 0.08

I had 1 3/4 beers over 3 hours of playing pool. This is not a story about getting away with driving drunk, because I wasn't drunk. This is a story about beating the cop who thinks I'm drunk. Zand02max, Yup they let me go after admitting to drinking. Why????? Gee could it be because I was in no way impaired or compromised to drive?????? YESSSSS!!!!!!! How do I know that? Gee could it be because I just passed all their tests without even a hint of losing any balance, sense of time, or ability to react? They even said to me you're perfectly fine to drive, alcohol just doesn't seem to react well with your body. (Zand02max) "Here, they let a sober person drive" Guess the cops over here are inept and don't know how to do their job huh Zand? They let drunk drivers by your opinion, go drive off. WRONG!!! They let me go because I proved to them I was sober!!! That 1 beer had in fact NOT impaired me or affected my driving in any way whatsoever!!!!

Today it's 1 or 2 or 1 & 3/4. What ever. Tomorrow it may be 5 or 6. All any of us is trying to say is be careful. Thats it. As they say "The life you save may be your own".

I'm glad you passed the tests and that you weren't drunk and that you didn't get a ticket. The cop was just doing their job. It's not like you beat getting a ticket. If you had "Beat" the ticket then I would have to say you were in fact impared.

This is not the point and YOU should know that! This isn't the point as explained above. I know a little less than 2 beers over 3 hours of pool is not going to make me wasted. And the cops agreed with me. So by your holier than thou logic, every single friggin business meeting, whatever in which people consume 1, 2 or whatever beers during lunch should burn in hell like the sinners they are huh? Well maybe you should wake up, cuz that's a lot more dangerous than my 2 beers over 3 hours. If you're married you better not have had any alcohol at your wedding. Or 100 cabs. Had a beer or glass of wine at my wedding? F you, call a cab right Zand? Had a beer at the party? F you call a cab! Had a beer with dinner, F you call a cab, right?!?
You act like I was plastered and I got away with it, that's what friggin bothers me Zand02max. I WASN"T drunk and I proved it to 4 officers of the law!!!! So how the hell am I being immature when I wasn't drunk or impaired when I was driving!??!!?

The human body disposes of 1 drink per hour, which is why I said 1 beer, (a white lie)I was just thinking straight and knew that by the time I was being pulled over I only had 1 beer in my system. Anyways you have your opinion , I have mine, but I don't go around calling people I don't know names. There's a fine line between maturity and tyranny. Maybe you should look in the mirror.

Not asking for your sympathy, nor anybody elses, where in my post do you see me asking to cry for me? Nowhere.

I totally understand what you're saying, and I'm saying I was not irresponsible because I know if I'm drunk or not, you don't. I guess I'll have to own up to it, I'm a lightweight, yup I admit it. There's no way I could even get to 5 or 6. Why? Because I would have thrown up on number 3 or 4. Especially if I have them in a short amount of time. The boys on this board can attest to this fact. Like I said, I'm not saying I beat the ticket at all, I'm saying yay the cop thought I was impaired and I proved to her I wasn't, good job. That's all I'm saying.

Got it. As for the keys on the car, If she caused scratches that can't be rubbed out you're entitled to go after the department for repair.

Stay safe and based on your last post, stay away from those 6 packs!

For everyone who has flamed this B!tch, I'll vouch that this PU$$Y $HIT is a very responsible individual. He knows when to stop drinking which alot of individual don't. I know drinking and driving is not the right thing to do, but $hit no need to come down hard on him for 1 beer. Plus, I'm sure he learned his lesson from all this. PEACE OUT!!

to add to this....
He rather become a chicks biotch and be called a ***** than to touch another drink when he know he hit his limit Yeah, that goes for you too Tony!!

All in all, I think we all agree that drinking and driving don't mix. Just that not everyday you get let off when you get pulled over (dui, traffic violation, etc). I guess this is what makes this story interesting.

I'd have filed a vandalism charge against her for keying your car. I don't care if they were your keys, she recklessly threw them on your roof.

If you have any scratches I'd be in there in a heartbeat with Police report for abuse.

After the Police Chiefs son goes to trial for fighting and that shoot out last year, Internal Affairs is like a freakin' hammer on these guys if there's even the least possibility of Police abuse.

And don't get me wrong, I have a bunch of Police officers for friends as a result of my other hobby that puts me in close proximity with them on a frequent basis and what she did showed that she was either a rookie or had a chip on her shoulder and has a complete lack of respect for those she's supposed to 'Protect and Serve'.

As I age, I'm loosing my tolerance for stupidity...

Responsibility is good. Drinking and Driving is not. Of course Drugs and Driving aren't either. And as stated earlier, 1 single simple beer, or whatever can affect one's vision, or reaction time in the need of a emergency situation, or even a stoplight changing and time ot stop. But I also agree in the fact, each and every individual has a different tolerance level. i.e. weight, age, height, the time the body conducts the alchol and absords it, etc. Nobody is perfect. Good thing is nobody got a ticket, bad thing is those stupid tickets they give out for no license plate on the front bumper. Anything for a buck, and I'm sure they hope we don't fix it, i.e. put the thing on. Anyway those new license plate holders that work with the toe bar thing are great, no messing up anything, and easy to take back off. A good cheap investment if you don't want those two eyeballs on the front bumper. All's well and ends well, and the police lose out, what can one say.
