Default OT: bay area cingular outage?

just curious, anyone else with Cingular having problem calling or receiving calls? my phone shows full reception but can't seem to call anywhere. When I try to call other cingular or my own phone, it goes straight to VM.... WTF?

Time to throw my phone out the window....

Dave, try doing a manual network select. It should resolve the problem.

My service seems to be fine. It's probably your phone. Just toss it and buy something else.

Yesterday afternoon(06-01-05) we had same problem in the late afternoon. Everything fine later in the evening when we got home, around 5:00 or 5:30pm though. i.e. Back to normal.

I have this problem quite often. My best friend (who has Cingular too) and I were both dealing with it yesterday. I was getting busy signals on her phone (???) and network failures. I hate Cingular.
