Default San Fran for 3 days - Advice for places to eat and party

Hi there

We are keen to hit the bars and clubs and go to a few nice places for dinner.

Any suggestions for 3 aussies?

Cheers

Go to Broadway Street in San Francisco. Bars, Lounges, Clubs, Restaurants, & Strip Clubs . There's always a lot of people around there during the weekend especially at night. If you want a more relaxed atmosphere, you can walk around Union Square or Pier 39. Mostly touristy stuff but there are a few nice restaurants around both of these areas as well as some shops if you wanted to go shopping.

how old are you, or what kind of music are u into? My dad is in his 40's and talks about the starlight room on top of the Sir Francis Drake hotel. Look it up on the internet, and check it out.

Thanks for the feedback.

I should have mentioned age.....trying to do 10 things at once before we leave.

All of us are late 20s and like dance/house music. Also we go to a lot of pubs/bars.

I have been quite a few times so we dont want to do the standard touristy thing. Want to go and hang out where the locals go if you know what I mean.

Regards
Mike

Try Ruby Skye a few blocks from Union Square. Plenty of shopping and sites in this general vicinity as well (which includes the Sony Metreon).

1015 and Ruby Skye are the two main places that play electronica. Ruby Skye will probably be more to your liking if you're looking for house. 1015 plays more trance (and non-house) music.

Nick Warren will be spinning on Friday. Check out the "Upcoming Events" link.

Blank & Jones will spin there on the 23rd, but that's too late for you guys.

I'd stay away from here this Friday, it looks to be hip-hop night. Saturday looks like they've got a bunch of local trance DJ's lined up.

Hopefully this will give you a start. I haven't gone clubbing for some time, so I'm not too sure where the "hot" spots are anymore. I'm sure there are plenty of other clubs worth checking out. Maybe someone else can chime in.

2004z, Yobri - you guys rock !

Thanks so much for the Rybe Skye suggestion. That looks awesome and definately what we were looking for.

Now - we just need to make sure they let us in!

Bad experience in LA a few years back where they would not let us in anywhere!

Regards
Mike

Gotta ask if your into the asian, white, yuppie, chill mixed scene since some clubs have different nights. There's the Marina where it's very chill and laid back on Union Street. DNA Lounge, Loft 11, Butter, Holy Cow off 11th.

Depends on if you're into bar hopping or just chilling at a place and staying there all night since if you're paying $20 cover, might want to save that for drinks by going to places where there aren't any.

I can't think of the name of that coffee shop in the warf area where they specialize in Irish coffee's. We always have breakfast there when we go to San Fran. Can anybody help me out with the name? Filmed a piece of "When A Man Loves A Woman" there.
